Here is another scene on 138 when you have chance to go there.
It's a bridge that appeared in "Merchants of Death" and others.

Amazing job everyone!

There's one particular location and for some reason I just can't think of the name of it, and the episode is on the tip of my tongue as well... I remember it was in some kind of military depot with a bunch of numbered garage doors. Anything ringing any bells???

Yep, that was "Knight Strike" and "The Wrong Crowd", among others. It's been identified already earlier in this thread.

Okay, I just got back from the nana nana nana nana Batcave, Batcave. AKA Bronson Canyon.
SHADO almost didn't want to go. I had to call out AAA to talk him into it.
There were four episodes that I know of filmed there.
I'll start of with Knight and Knerd.

I'm now fairly certain that they covered over the other mouth of the cave, but I'll throw this side in for comparison. You'll see the other side coming up in Burial Ground.

It looks like the third door to the cave was either not open yet, or was boarded up for this shot for Burial Ground.

If they were to tilt the camera up just slightly they would show you a rather spectacular view of the Hollywood Sign. Though today it was covered with some fog.

Sue, these photos are just utterly phenomenal :good:

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now here is a revisit to Los Angeles downtown. So far the location hunters
have used Google Maps (with Street View), Google Earth, and Microsoft Virtual Earth.
One of the functions of Google Earth we rarely used is '3D building,' which can be very useful
for the following location in LA downtown that Joe posted in page 13.

Unfortunately, Google Street View doesn't go on that part of South Flower so this is the best I can do:

Season 3, The Ice Bandits

As mentioned in my post above, I just realized the advantage of Google Earth - 3D Buildings,
which helped me to discover this location:

Scene: Von Decker Auctioneers (diamond auction place in the beginning of the episode)

Address: Boyd St & Omar Ave, Los Angeles, Los Angeles, California 90013

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source= ... 87,,0,7.51" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

[note: #5 building is the Microwave tower of Pacific Bell; a lot of new buildings emerged after 25 years,
#2 building is hiding behind another building]

[this is an attempt to recreate the scene with 3D buildings from the cameraman's perspective]

[and not-so-clear street view on Google Maps; I blurred the people on the street :)]

There are two major cues to this location:
1. California Aqueduct
2. Crystalaire Country Club (this is the only 'oasis' around)

real location:
approx. 32386 Valyermo Rd, South Antelope Valley, CA

Here is my recent visit to this location. It's not a through street, though 8)

The straight segment before the bend on the dirt road is too short in the today's photo.
So I double checked this location on Google Earth. It turns out the precise location is a little bit off.

The following is a zoom-out from the above scene. 1: location of my field trip photo. 2: correct location.

p.s. this location is not far from the El Mirage Dry Lake

Those shots were most likely part of the material filmed by Wayne Fitzgerald intended for use in the opening titles. A really nice one along that stretch of road turns up in Dead of Knight, in Season 3:

Image

(A variation of this shot does turn up in the Season 2 and 3 opening titles... the image of K.I.T.T. on his monitor, as we zoom in on the car to the scanner at about 22 seconds in).
