Whatever happened to Goliath!
I know Goliath was destroyed in "Goliath Returns" but what im talking about is what happened to the truck they used on the show in real life? Does anybody have any info or behind-the-scenes pics of it? Was it dismantled, sold-off, destroyed?

A very good question, I would love to know the answer to this myself.

Re: Whatever happened to Goliath!
Well I believe there was a thread on here awhile back that at least revealed that Goliath's trailer was used on the show Airwolf as part of some mobile command setup for an episode. I don't unfortunately have the screenshot that was taken but I do recall it being mentioned on KRO quite some time ago.
As for the cab, your guess is a good as mine.

Hey guys,
No clue on the Goliath cab/trailer. Nick - the thread you are thinking of is one I started - it was the Foundation semi being used in an Airwolf episode, not Goliath. Close though!

Peterbilt no longer manufactures the 362 cabover model. There are some used ones still around. If check http://www.truckshopper.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;blowersho wrote:How about the Goliath models, anybody know what happened to them?

Re: Whatever happened to Goliath!
Hmm interesting. Well those trailers all look the same don't they? I figure if they painted over Goliath's trailer we'd never be able to find out what happened to it. It could be right there in our faces and we'd never know it, could have even been turned into a Comtron trailer for all we know.Joe Huth wrote:Hey guys,

Im not so much thinking about the trailer as much as the cab, this thing was pretty big & almost fully customised! Maybe this will be a Knight Rider unsolved mystery!

Nick is right Goliaths trailer WAS used in Airwolf, season 1 "Daddy's gone a hunting" I think it was, & the Flag Semi was used as well. I have screen shots of both I'll dig em out later after work.

Hmm I guess my memory is still pretty good. I distinctly remember seeing a screenshot at some point with a gray trailer that was identified as belonging to Goliath, so good looking out jknightandkarr and I look forward to seeing your screenshots.jknightandkarr wrote: Joe,

Re: Whatever happened to Goliath!
I am assuming it is probably sitting in a junkyard right now rotting away. If they really did use the truck for some of the crash scenes, the movie company wouldn't be able to title it for street use again. It's a shame all these great screen used cars end up this way. If I had the money I would buy them all off the production company and create sorta a museum so atleast they could still be enjoyed

Here's the thread I created a while back on the FLAG semi being in Airwolf:
viewtopic.php?f=2&t=10191&p=122552&hili ... lf#p122552
And here's a quick screen grab from Airwolf "Daddy's Gone a Hunting" and that sure does look like the Goliath trailer to me!

Yep,
That's the image/screenshot I remember seeing (though I think it was pre-explosion) and I concur that looks like Goliath's trailer. I think it's safe to call that particular mystery solved.

Re: Whatever happened to Goliath!
How are you to say that is Goliaths trailer? It could be any trailer painted grey, where on it does it clearly show that it is Goliaths trailer? And id love to see the FLAG semi used in another show.Victor Kros wrote:Yep,

In one shot they show the trailer doors & goliaths little code lock box that was on the doors is still attached to itGarthKnight08 wrote:How are you to say that is Goliaths trailer? Re: Whatever happened to Goliath!
The flag semi interior set was also used in the A-team season 3 episode Road Games.
Re: Whatever happened to Goliath!
Here's another bit of interesting information...the Juggernaut vehicle (without the battering ram) was used in the film Spacehunter before it made it's way to Knight Rider. It's also been in a few other things but that's the only one I specifically recall off the top of my head. Universal used to have a huge pool of vehicles (ground and air) for use in their TV shows and often you would see prominent vehicles from shows recycled into bit-parts.

Re: Whatever happened to Goliath!
(I know the amount of times I type in Juggernaut in this post is going to be like a drinking game but here it goes!)
Yes Lexicon, the rover "jeep" was originally in Spacehunters: Adventures in the Forbidden Zone which came before Knight Rider's Fourth Season, and was recycled/modified into The Juggernaut for Season Four's 2-hour premiere episode Knight of the Juggernaut.
Here it is in Spacehunters
Another interesting bit of trivia is that The Juggernaut was redesigned with the steel grill (ala Goliath) and extended battering ram after its first debut in Knight of The Juggernaut because NBC didn't feel it was impressive enough in the earlier footage of the episode. This is why The Juggernaut has two "looks" to it.

Look 2
You can find out more about The Juggernaut on page 185 in The Knight Rider Companion and in the Season Four Episode Guide.

Re: Whatever happened to Goliath!
That episode of Airwolf aired in January 1984, so was filmed a few months beforehand. Goliath's Return would've been filmed after this as it aired towards the end of KR's second season and a good while after this Airwolf ep, so we're still left with the mystery of what happened next for Goliath after his second KR film...
