Awesome picture! And funny too seeing those people running around avoiding the car.

Photoshop anyone?

Is this a real jump? Looks like the mustang is carried by a forklift truck or something like that. And what about the cables on the ground?

They actually do jump the car.....it just isnt done really high. We only see the landings, but everytime the car jumps, the landings are real.

The Knight Writers blog described the jump in more detail.
As for the Herculean labors, well, in this show we have four of them – each once crazier the last. First is a prison break, which we shot at a real prison. All the orange suited guys you’ll see are paid extras, but if you look in the deep, deep background you can also spot the real deal. (Q: How do we know none of the orange-suited inmates got mixed up with the orange-suited extras? A: We don’t!) The prison break sequence is noteworthy ‘cause this is where we wound up wounding Attack Kitt. Not permanently, of course. For the landing shot in the yard we set up a ramp so we could have Kitt jump over the camera. When the time came, the director called “action!” and Kitt made the jump… it was sweet but when he touched down, he cracked his front end something bad. Thank god for nanotechnology (and our team in Transportation, who fixed him up fast)!

I don't mind the front attack mode rim. Its the rear drag racing wheel and tire setup that looks horrendous. The whole attack mode is ridiculous anyway. Didn't they learn the lesson from SPM in the original series? I actually like the GT500KR much better than the original Trans Am. The car looks good as is, no attack mode needed.

I still wish the wheels/rims were black. >_>

Yeah i agree, wheels should be black and NO ATTACK MODE. IT LOOKS S**T. IT LOOKS UGLY AND MAKES THE CAR LOOK FAT. JUST LIKE SPM. AWFULL. GET RID OF THE WHOLE CONCEPT!

Good pick though, looks fake for some reason, even though the landing is real.

I do wish the rims were back, but nothing else REALLY grates on me.

ON TOPIC, that's a pretty cool shot. That's a fun/scary time to be an extra :P

What do you mean, it's not on a forklift. A, you can see the dust coming up out of the wheel wells. B, He said in the blog that they cracked KITT's front jumping the car. C, we watch the car land in the episode.

One reason for the image to look fake is if its shot in an extremely low shutter time... this means that the light captured (and thus the image we see) was so brief that there is no visual sense of motion in the image... hence fake looking.

Who ever designed attack mode didn't really think it through. The front end of the car has about an inch if lucky of ground clearance. It's obviously gonna break/crack when it hits the ground nose first. (which it usually does)
