Hey guys,
We here at Master Key VFX (The In-House Team for Knight Rider) just came across a rather upsetting article in VFX World Magazine that was published right near the premiere of 101.
At the time of this article, Master Key had already assumed full creative control of Knight Rider. While some of the VFX discussed in the article are accurately attributed to the company mentioned (the fire scene, one transform only) we did the rest. Specifically, I and my team did the Heads Up Display from Day 1, and our in house 3D team has done every car transform but one. In fact, the images used in the article are from a rejected transformation by the company in mention for episode 1 that we had to redo.
I'm generally not one to complain, and I know people here have mixed reviews on our work, however, I think you can all agree that creative credit on anything should be given where it is due.
I humbly ask you to call/email VFX magazine and reach their editor-in-chief, bill@awn.com [P] (323) 606-4200 and request a full retraction and apology for the article. I have no problem giving the company they mention full credit for what they did, but I openly invite them, or any member of the media to come visit our facilities, where we do have the power and the team in place to do over 200 VFX per week. Now that's a good story.
Thanks guys

Re: Requesting your support
I think I read this before and I thought there was something off about it with the talking to Stargate Digital and nothing about you guys, making it seem like they're doing all the work, which is just not cool.
Found the topic, guess I didn't post there.

The new and again improved evil's advertisement is currently too long and too badass to display here. But let's just say that with now 50% more evil, this **** is great!

z00story, I think bringing this here might not be the right approach. There will inevitably be people who will send immature or unkind e-mails to the magazine. Would they not likely correct the story if you just e-mail them yourselves?
I did notice that the transform in that article (which I read a month or so back, actually) looked pretty bad. Glad to know that was just a test and not done by you guys. Your transforms look much better. In fact, people complaining about the VFX should look at it and be happy it looks as nice as it does and didn't end up looking bad like the one in the article.

He's not a part of that department, he's the 2D guy. Stop flooding him with PMs!

Well you know us fans know and love you.
But I can see how it would be disconcerting to have that kind of misinformation in a magazine that other industry people are reading.
Cause recognition from us is nice and all but I doubt too many of us can give you work... Unless you’re up for making some of the most amazing youtube videos ever! Hey we might even let you star in them.
I’ll see if I can’t post a comment on the article… It looks like they are monitoring what comments go up very closely.
