ANyone know where I can get a Knight Rider Toy car?

Post by 98 SNAKE EATER » Tue Mar 04, 2003 10:58 pm

I had one when I was a kid :)

It used to say stuff and the rear plate used to flip

I've tried Ebay over the last few months, but found nothing :(

Yeah it was the "voice car" as Kenner called it. I have two, but they don't work any more, and they're not for sale. eBay has had them in the past there's one on there now http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... egory=2622.

Click on my Knight Rider page link in my signature and you can listen to what the voice car says on my website.

well if you go to ebay and type in Knight Rider and Voice you will find the KR voice Car there are two there now, i have one myself scored it for 20 bucks and its in Mint Cond and NEVER had a battery in it 8) personally next to the MPC/AMT Ertl model kit of KITT in the 80s the voice car was the only KITT toy that was proportionatly accurate to the real car it even had details like the gas cap door authentic interior, but the one thing i never understood was why did the passenger door open but there was never a Devon, or Bonnie figure

Here is pics of my KITT voice car with Michael taken in January prior to putting them in a custom made Plexiglass Display Case.

KITT: "I want custody of ME!"

There is a company coming out with a new version of the talking Kenner car... but I've said to much already.

 Whew, should have kept my mouth shut on this one. LoL. Anyway I'll bite a little bit, in a few months you should see a company offering a very acurate 1:16 Keener style car. Where the Keener car was wrong, they went in and remodeled the dash so its correct, redid the entire center console, added an overhead console, a working scanner, awesome PMD seats.... and well its got a few other surprises too. I'm not sure if they are gonna make them talk yet or not though.

Anyway I'm not really at liberty to say anything more. Sorry guys.

Thanks for bitting a bit. It's hard to keep such a great thing as a remake of the Kenner car a secret. Question though that you may be able to answer. Why and how do you know?

Considering that I own quite a few Nascar diecast, since you said the car would be in 1/16th scale, our beloved Kitt will be LARGE & IN CHARGE,BABY! :D  8) Since in the world of diecast, the smaller the number(1/24th,1/18th,1/16th,1/12th,) the bigger the model. I have a 1/18th #24 Chevy Dupont, and that's a pretty stout car-VERY detailed features per WC specs of the real car & high-quality construction, made by a company who knows what they're doing. This car is about 11inches in length,so you can just imagine what Kitt would look like in 1/16th scale! ::drools excitedly::

Did I mention I moved? lol

The company making the car will post here when its done and they have them in stock and ready to ship. I don't even think they started the project yet, but I know because I buy movie props from them all the time. Receantly I added a Terminator bust to my collection and its very sweet. Right now they are working on "Gremlins" prop replicas. (That and I'm designing there website hehehe. Hey I gotta make some money somehow.)

Speaking of the Kenner car, Kenner is often known for rehashing certain items with minor adjustments (like the Batman Wayne Mansion/Bat Cave playset, amongst other things). Not too long ago, someone posted here about finding a prototype car for the "Bill and Ted" action figure line that never made production. And what it was was a rehash of KITT, without a scanner light, dash, and a screwy paintjob that looked like someone took a bucket of white paint and splashed it onto the car. I don't know about the interior, but I'm going by what I remember.

Anything Kenner did has been spread out through other companies. Kenner was bought out by Hasbro in the early 90s, shortly becoming Has-Ken, and then drowning Kenner out entirely and becoming Hasbro again. There were some things Kenner did/made that Hasbro wasn't interested in and they sold off the molds/patents to those toys.

Very interesting Ken. I'm pretty sure that i know what company you're talking about, but I'll wait to find out for sure. I guess we all can't wait for this car to come out. Hehe :)

knight rider pedal toy

Post by paulknight » Tue Mar 11, 2003 6:23 pm

who had one of these or remembereed one. it was a rather nice toy to have if you liked knight rider. you sat in it and pedaled it like a bike. the scanner even worked, but i was an elitist knight rider fan and made my dad bring the car back becaue it didn't talk. wrong move on my part. does anyone have any pictures of this toy?

:'( I did't have one with flashing lights or anything. Just a pic of MK on the front, Knigh Rider on each side and stickers of the lights on the back.
