Big commercial slap in the face...
So since we knew from the get-go that we were not getting a turbo boost did anyone find it funny that during the first commercial break we seen a red mustang floating effortlessly through the air.... LoL I was just like Grrrrrrrrrr. I want turbo boost.
And honestly those commercials got old very quick.

yeah i noticed. But the Mustang is too heavy to jump.
I'm sorry if anyone is tired of hearing this, but would it have hurt them to have thrown in a Turbo Boost and a Ski Mode?

I rather enjoyed the one where KITT was asking Mike if his date would like to sit in him. That was hilarious!

Re: Big commercial slap in the face...
Well there's always the hope that it can be added later in the series or just didn't appear in the pilot. It could have been a test to see if fans think the car could do without it (which of course is a definate NO!! )
I suppose it could also be argued that that particular ad other than being there to say "KI3T was Ford buy Ford now pl$" it could have been added to tease, upset and thus create demand (ie. a drooling zombie like set of KR fans in a state of nostalgic bliss) for the feature to be added/reappear so people will back the series to be picked up

Yeah, I'm surprised no one posted about it earlier. I was going to post a screen capture of it but haven't had the time yet.DevonStyles wrote:So since we knew from the get-go that we were not getting a turbo boost did anyone find it funny that during the first commercial break we seen a red mustang floating effortlessly through the air.... I find it odd that the very first commercial would have a turbo boost-esque jump, and just as odd that the online NBC game also features a jumping Mustang. Was it a subliminal way to get it in there somehow since they knew it wasn't going to be in the Pilot?

Maybe the online game is a way of telling us we'll eventually see Turbo Boost.

i would assume so, you dont cut out a major part of the series and then tease your audience with such a game for no reason. I suppose they may want to get rid of turbo boost but use the game and track forums etc to see the fans reaction to decide whether or not to add it to a series.Drake wrote:Maybe the online game is a way of telling us we'll eventually see Turbo Boost.
If it's not added at the beginning of the series i reckon there should be a scene with Tracer and Knight in the car, with Michael asking about it's absence.

Cars used for jumping pretty much have everything stripped, the Trans-Am's turbo boost stunt double (back before they used the crappy models) was just a fiberglass shell that weighed significantly less.
The new and again improved evil's advertisement is currently too long and too badass to display here. But let's just say that with now 50% more evil, this **** is great!
Re: Big commercial slap in the face...
but how about this? Could they strip, say an 05-06 Mustang, jump it with ramp(s) maybe take off AND landing, so it is smooth, and the use that handy CGI morphing technology to superimpose KITT over the stunt car and green screen out the ramps? I don't know if that is possible but I cannot see why they can't do it with all that other CGI they threw in there.....

I saw this commercial and thought, "What the hell?!" Well, at least we know what the 'Stang looks like while turbo boosting.

I'd like to see turbo boost too, but I can understand why they wouldn't include it in the pilot. In the original series, every time they jumped a trans am they destroyed it. I'm sure they figured they'd pinch their pennies and try not to destroy their cars before they knew they'd have a series and a budget!

Re: Big commercial slap in the face...
Yeah, but it would probably be done in CG and they wouldn't wreck the cars.
Re: Big commercial slap in the face...
sure, but then we'd all complain about how fake it looked, and that we miss seeing kitt bend in half upon landing and then suddenly revert back to normal

I can see fans cheering if the series starts and Turbo Boost appears on screen
