Re: Valet with different ending
Thanks for that ckeller! The turn at the end seems almost like CGI - what does everyone else think?
The giant FORD logo might lend to some of the cross promotion we are going to see. Hopefully it's not a cue of it being in the actual pilot as blatant.

Could someone write the text of this commercial, i can't understand the word before .... is born. Is that word "icon"?.

Thank you.
It seems to me, that this commercial is Ford's version of an earlier KR commercial

Woah, that was a horrible composition. Neither the the background nor the car itself seem to be CGI, but both are two separate elements that have been copied together - and very poorly I might add. I really do hope it's just a cheap effect for a short (Ford?-)commercial and not a taste of the visual effects we can expect in the actual series. Although that really would be embarrassing. The effects will be better, I'm sure...

*SIGH* I'm still betting on the movie being "Brought to you by Ford with limited commercial interruptions". Of course that leads to pretty much every commercial being a Ford commercial.
The new and again improved evil's advertisement is currently too long and too badass to display here. But let's just say that with now 50% more evil, this **** is great!

Re: Valet with different ending
I have no problem with the TV Movie being presented by Ford. Or if every commercial is a Ford commercial. That's a decision made independently of the actual production. I'm happy so long as the show itself doesn't have dialog like "wow, what a nice car, where did you get it?" "From my local Ford dealership, where they have prompt and courteous service."
I am a little nervous about pop-up ads though. I'd hate to see a Ford Ticker pop-up on screen. But of course we pretty much hate all tickers anyway.

True, it's not that big a deal and yeah hopefully we're just not reminded every other minute that the car and well every car in the TV movie is also "brought to us by Ford", including close ups and focusing on the emblems.

Ah, what a great choice of words. I love the idea of K.I.T.T. and/or the series being called an icon.neps wrote:An Icon is Reborn

This isn't the first time that "Knight Rider" was sponsored by Ford. I found this in my archives, from 1985:

Re: Valet with different ending
Now that's just funny. Point well taken though.
I was going to say it was a little ironic since it's a show featuring a Pontiac/GM car but instead of their sponsoring it, a rival is. But I'm not sure it actually is. >_> I hate that word....

Re: Valet with different ending
Hate on the Mustang and Ford all you want, but remember this, Ford thinks it's cool that their car is being linked to the show, back then, GM decided that they didn't want to have anything to do with Knight Rider, which is why it was always called "a black T-Top" after the first season. GM didn't think it was cool that they referred to KITT as a black Trans-Am.

Re: Valet with different ending
Exactly! Excellent point! Pontiac didn't want anything to do with KR back in the eighties. Here we have a car manufacturer who wants IN on Knight Rider, who will provide money, cars (not just KITT) at reduced cost so the budget can go elsewhere, who will promote the show as well as NBC, and people are complaining! I love it, and look forward to a bright future if the series gets picked up, where thanks to all of this we could get an excellent on-going show will adverts promoting it everywhere!
