NBC Knight Rider TWO MINUTE preview

Post by neps » Wed Jan 09, 2008 11:03 am

was just sent this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7e9wgshS0qI

This is our first actual look at real footage from the 2 hour movie. The KITT scenes look impressive, and Justin is very convincing. You can see Rob's KITT 2000 wheel - as well as a car with no hood on it - I'm guessing that's the original KITT?

I definitely like the modern look they are shooting in. Slightly desaturated crisp dark colors but still feels vivid.

OMG! This is amazing! To see the old Kitt dismantled is disturbing in an exciting way. And if you look closely at te scenes in which Sarah and Mike are inside Kitt, you can see the switchpod on the side of the steering wheel. You can see the licence plate as well but I couldn't decypher it, it was too blurry.

Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet

I love the theme music rework aswell. Is it my imagination or did alot of the camera-work look like something out of a Micheal Bay film???

I can see that Sarfraz - but I was hoping you would say Bourne film. Since Doug Liman had some involvement and we want the Pilot to be a little more plot driven then a Michael Bay film.

At least we know how Mike Tracer and Kitt meet. Their relationship is starting out exactly like Michael and Kitt's did. Ripping each other. I loved it "Kitt try that again and I'll put sugar in your gas tanK" , "Don't even think about it" I was cheering my sister yelled down what are you so excited about. NBC has hit the nail on the head this time around I believe im dying to see this now.

Look again. He says "I play Mike Tracer, son of Michael Knight." Overall, I must say this thing is looking pretty cool. The new KITT looks badass.

Yeah, but he drops the "of" a bit. I'm in a studio listening on monitor speakers, so if you're on a laptop or plain old computer speakers it might get lost.

Yeah, I think he's saying "I play Mike Tracer, son of Michael Knight."

That does indeed look very promising. Still no mention of Turbo Boost, but it's possible that they could be hiding that. But I am really excited, this is starting to shape up very well. I like KITT's voice, even if he does sound a little like KARR.

I liked the glimpse of the Knight 2000...I do hope it plays some role beyond that. Michael Knight is in the movie, I would imagine that he would want the old KITT up and running.
Michael: "KITT! Where are ya?!"
K.I.T.T.: "I'm in your parking space, Michael, where else would I be?"

I don't think it was KITT that says "don't even think about it" I think it was just the narrator guy. But i do like when Tracer says that. And did i notice the blackout on the taillights?

I think NBC is on to something here. it looks great. it does have a Michael Bay feel. And who can shoot cars better than him.

Hopefully Justin can pull it off because he has to be able to old his own against Will.

Will Arnetts voice sounds great as well. A personality is definitely needed and he fits it to a T.

To all the mustang haters say what you will, but this car looks good on film.

Holy s***, this is AWESOME.
The more I see of KITT, the better I like it.
When I see the video, I can feel the flair of the original series. This could be really really good.

I hope hes not always this fragile.

But the 2minute clip is great, 39 days and counting.

Blah, so they're going with the KITT is dismantled angle again? Lame... I really hope they didn't go and actually make the AI the same AI as the original KITT because at me that just isn't going to work at all with a different voice. It'll give me flashbacks of Universal Studios and their KITT display.

Other than that, it didn't look bad at all.
The new and again improved evil's advertisement is currently too long and too badass to display here. But let's just say that with now 50% more evil, this **** is great! :skar:

Wow, that was really cool stuff!
It was cool and sad at the same time to see old KITT that way. I'm really curious what role he will play in the new series.

Aside from that, everything looks fantastic. Even the car looks cool as hell. I mean come on, Ford or not, on screen it looks great! Now if they just would work on the interior of the car it would be perfect. But thanks to Shapeshifter we know this is in the works.

Justin seems to be a good choice for the leading role.

I'm really hyped now. February 17th, my birthday by the way, can't come soon enough!

Incredible! :D I'm getting more and more excited to see this movie.

That new scanner noise gave me chills. It's very creepy sounding (but in a good way) and almost reminds me of a heartbeat. Imagine being in a pitch dark place, and then all you see is the scanner and heard that noise...
Flyer Guy: "You really a talking car?"
KITT: "No. I'm a tight end for the Chicago Bears!"

Barricade (Mustang) and the rest of Micheal Bay's Transformers have corrupted my fragile mind

The second TF trailer also used very similar techniques were you see a picture then blacks out for a millisecond, then another flash of a picture etc.

I like the last line by that bad guy "certainly didn't come from the dealership"

...Feb 17th bring it on!

Yes, the scanner is great. But the second, third and fourth (and so on ;) ) time I watched that preview I noticed that the scanner is deactivated most of the time. We only see it at the very beginning and at the end, but never in the actual footage of the pilot. Espacially in the scene where KITT is racing through that tunnel the scanner would have looked great. I wonder if it will be added in post production or if it really is deactivated most of the time.

Hard to tell, but at least in this shot, KITT has a non-vanity license plate:
