Video of NBC's KITT in action
From the press event they show all three cars.
- The auto KITT (R/C driven - no dude in the seat - from up to 1 mile away)
- Normal KITT (they even say it's just a normal stock mustang)
- "Attack" Mode KITT
They also talk about KITTs features. Ability to heal itself, access any technology near it (like the internet!)

Still no dash or scanner shots..

I like the idea of how the new KITT can be remote controlled, but that's about it.
As for the look of the car; how lazy can they be by just putting a scanner on it??
At least when Glen took the 82 Trans Am, he went the full 9 yards to make it stand out from every other car, whereas with this Mustang....it's just a disgrace to the very name of Knight Rider and KITT.

I think its safe to say that the burn out will be the biggest stunt you will see this car pull off. Everything else will be CG except for obvious driving and burn outs. Personally I would like to see the original KITT turbo boost right through this POS car.

Sorry if I provoke an arguement here... which is not what I intend to do... infact I am trying to understand, but how did the the original KITT differ itself from the stock TA other than its new bumper and black out lights, both of these features are also seen on the attack KITT... I seriously think that the 3000 looks fine. Again sorry if I upset someone, not my intention.

He changed the nose slightly, put a scanner on it and covered up some Pontiac logos. I would hardly say that KITT stood out from every other car. In fact, I believe that was part of the reason why the show worked so well: In many ways, KITT was an "everyman's car". There were tons of Trans Ams on the street that looked very much like KITT did, so people could relate to car better.MJknight wrote:At least when Glen took the 82 Trans Am, he went the full 9 yards to make it stand out from every other car
The new KITT may look very much like a "regular Mustang" but seriously, how often do you see a Mustang Shelby parked at 7-Eleven?

Now thats funny.Still, many of those laughs were replaced when a driverless KITT screeched to a halt in front of the assembled reporters and popped his trunk to reveal bound-and-gagged special guest star Hasselhoff, whom a publicist explained crashed the event without an invitation.

Very Cool! Can't wait to see KITT in action on Feburary 17th at 9. Do you guys think that the music played will be the music for the show? The 3 modes are very cool but I like this video better, you can see the scanner and there is more to it:

back seat
Not sure how they fit in those tight backseats. Anyone who has a mustang knows that u cant fit anything on the back. Cool car, but bad call on using for KITT or new show. The 3rd gens T/A were more spacious on the back

Well it's been awhile since I posted last on here.. wow a really long time.
My input on the new K.I.T.T. Well lets just say that I think it's great that
the new K.I.T.T. is a Mustang. Yeah I know that it ain't the same as the
original but however GM does not make any Firebird/Trans-Am anymore.
The new Camaro just wouldn't suit it. I own a fully blown out K.I.T.T. replica,
and I also own a 2006 Mustang GT ( go figure ) but it's not Black.
I like the fact that the new show is going to more or less continue from
the original, that part is cool. I never heard of the guy who is doing KITT's
voice. so I can not comment on that..
Well it's out in Feb. 08 so I am excited to see it. Can wait now..
Lets just see what I might do to my Mustang LOL
Later guys

No it's ok your not blind, lol. It was hard at first for me to see it too, look at the end when Attack Mode KITT comes out and you can see it, look closely, it right where the hood scoops are, its a large scanner rather but it looks good. Too bad it wasn't incorporparated like the original.Deferranfan1 wrote:I don't see the scanner any where. Maybe I am blind.

No it's not a scanner on the "attack" KITT. It's the reflection off the hood of a red painted sign on the side of the building it drives beside.
That's my only beef with the car is the lack of the trademark red scanner but like any technology maybe the hardware/software is advanced enough now where a "scanner" hooked into the front isn't necessary any longer and everything is shielded safely under the hood to make the car a bit more impenetrable?
Other than that I sincerely hope this show stands a chance. Hope to hear less crying and whining about it and just give it chance. If we all wanted to watch Hasselhoff behind the wheel of the relic T/A then just pop in the dvd's and watch the old reruns. Let's see what they do and where they take this show....then and only then will it be fair to give a review.

The "ability to heal itself" sounds an awful lot like the Defender from Viper.... Not to mention the inclusing of *in a loud booming voice* NANOTECHNOLOGY which from what I remember is a fetish of NBC's since Viper...
What of the car having a MBS? >_>
