I think it's done rather well. If you can visualize the end of this scene, it's got a sorta creepy vibe to it.

Is there any more? Who wrote this?

I wrote it.

It's kind of creepy, but that gives it a realistic setting in the real world, instead of going straight into a car talking in fluent english with a NY accent and you have no idea how. For the new generation of viewer that is asking too much.

In the series the KITT AI was never explained properly, you never had a footing with the real world. It was just a car that spoke perfect English and that was all that there was to it. That's how it was in the 80's.

But I think that (in 2007) you need to present a back story, the science behind the AI. This gives it a more sure footing, makes you understand the character more, and makes you like the character more. In any case, the character is taken more seriously and the disbelief is suspended more effectively.
