How do those miniatures fly so perfectly?

Post by Keon2005 » Sat Nov 11, 2006 7:05 pm

LOL Hey does anyone know how they got those miniature cars to fly so perfectly, did they use a slingshot or throw the cars or what lol. Also they seem to land perfectly as well. Whats up?

They were thrown, pushed, you name it. Some were remote controlled
as well.

I have seen one or two of the real miniatures used and they are very well
weighted down. The one I held had to weight 4 or 5 pounds easy if not
more.

I would say the bottom would be weighed down to keep it up right, but the advantage for the film makers is that if it doesn't land right they just push up the ramp again, but a real car would be damaged & need fixing before re-filming.

Even though they used minatures for the finale jump in KITT vs KARR, they did atleast use a real KITT landing

On the DVDs, you can make out that as the SX-411 fires a rocket at K.I.T.T., the missile is on a wire. It's possible that the jump over the helicopter was also wire-controlled, which would account for the wobbling.

The miniatures had a little more bounce to them when they landed too.
