I'll try

Post by corlando52 » Fri Aug 11, 2006 11:32 pm

Josch,
I will try to dig out the Argentina car and take some pictures tomorrow for you.
Andy,
I remember that 1/18th scale R/C KITT, but I think it's real slow. I'd love to have one worthy of the name KITT. Thanks for sending me the auction link. Unfortunately, he only posts to the UK (I am in the USA), and he doesn't guarentee that it even works. How hard is it to stick some batteries in it to test it out? I never trust anyone who won't try out an item before he sells it.

KITT Pow-e-tron

Post by corlando52 » Fri Aug 11, 2006 11:50 pm

I need a favor from anyone in the UK (or anywhere else that might have it.
Ertl (I think) has a KITT transformer, called a Pow-e-tron, that can change into a robot. It's on ebay, but every seller is from the UK and says they will only post to the UK.
Can someone find one for me and ship it here (USA)?
Just tell me the cost. I will Paypal, or send a money order or personal check.
Thanks!

Chris

Josch,
Thanks for the links. The first KITT doesn't work properly, so I didn't bid on it. The second one I wrote to and asked if he will ship it to the US. I haven't received a reply, yet.
If you find one in a local shop, please let me know.

Thanks!

Chris

PS...I am going through my box of KITTs now for the one from Argentina.
I'll post pictures later.

OK, you asked for it...here are some pictures of the KITT from Argentina (I think it says Garnal on the bottom).

If you want to see it working, go here:

Enjoy!

BTW, I found someone who will send the KITT transformer to the US, if I win. The auction goes off Wednesday. Wish me luck!!!

Don't have a converter

Post by corlando52 » Mon Aug 14, 2006 5:03 pm

Josch,
Sorry, but I don't have a converter to make the clip an MPG.
Don't you have Windows Media Player? It opens OK with that. It's free to download.

Thats the problem with alot of eurpean Knight Rider models they never obtained legal licence so they are often different cars made to look like KITT rather than proper Trans Ams. Apart from the back it doesn't look to bad, scanner needs to be a bit higher but then its probably using 80s technology.

Today i saw the Video, it looks like the Model when Michael is driving with KITT outside the Jail, or in the Episode Soul Survivor. But defintly looks like the Scanner from the first Jail Scene

Interesting point, the 1st gen Mazda RX-7 always looked somewhat similar to 3rd gen TA to me :)
Here's my Mazda RX-7 and Pontiac Firebird Trans-Am toycars from the 80's (sorry for their rough condition):
