KITT on Americas Got Talent

Post by oppenca2 » Wed Aug 02, 2006 9:41 pm

I think KITT was the star of the show tonight :D on Americas Got Talent show Wednesday night.

Too bad he (KITT) didnt have his original voice.

Forget about the stripper girl. But she must be a fan of KR!

I was so suprised to see KITT and hear the whole orig Knight Rider Theme song played!

I was SHOCKED to see KITT but it was a great suprise! It was nice seeing a KR fan on America's Got Talent. I am so voting for KITT, I mean the girl.

I had heard a rummor that a KITT replica was going to be on the show but I heard it was going to be on sooner in the show and that a juggler stunt was going to bring the car out. Well, being very semi correct, I'm glad it happened all the same even though it was still a lousy act.

I'm sure that most of this board knew that someone was going to bring out a KITT replica at some point in the show.

I'm still hearing that someone else is going to bring out another KITT replica, but not as good as the one we saw tonight.

Whoever built this KITT replica - my hat is off to you. I for one was very impressed!

Yes, it was very nice.

I'm curious about the tinting. Did the replica maker add the tint during the construction or was it something they did for this show? I almost thought I saw someone in the passenger seat. If this was the case, and my eyes weren't playing tricks on me - I'm curious if they were the voice and light controls....

It would have been a really great if William Daniels could have done the voice... almost impossible, but nice thought.

I was waiting for David to say something more than what he did about the car.

Did David vote "Yes" to the girl's act? From what it's sounding like, K.I.T.T. was used as a cheap trick to overshadow the girl's lousy performance.

Here's the clip.. I'm posting it in different sections to weed out a lot of the irrelevant stuff. First up, the complete performance:

I thought the act was a bit wrong, so I didn't vote for her. Sorry.....
I liked the KITT replica, but I just couldn't vote for an act like that.

 OMG! That is just SO WRONG!

Uhrmmmm... uh I won't even say, but I don't blame some for covering their eyes. I'm sure if it was really KITT he wouldn't have stayed long. He'd have been like

"To coin a phrase... I'm outta here!" - KITT

Thanks for posting the clips Michael. We don't get America's Got Talent in South Africa, so it was nice to see.
It's time to bring back "Knight Rider"

Thanks alot for those Michael :D Its good that she used the Origional theme and not some daft re-make..like done live by a band. Wouldn't get my vote though as she's obviousely clutching at straws to advance.

That KITT is a Geaorge Barris car.

That is the "Black-out" KITT for when KITT tints his windows.
So that is a screen used car.

That Car just underwent a major restoration/renovation.

More on this car soon.... 8)

About the judges and this act. At the beginning of the show they were showing all three judges "discussing" an act and that Brandy was adament about not allowing this one act to go on. Guess which one it was???? David and Piers OBVIOUSLY wanted this one on tonight. But in the end, Piers gave her an X, Brandy(as if you all did not know) gave her an X, and David, of course gave her a check! Good old David knows talent when he see's it!! Um.... the car of course!!! :)

Nice clips Michael and thank you for sharing them! My uncle actually called last night to tell me KITT was on but I was in the middle of something so I missed it. All the little kids covering their eyes made me laugh but I don't blame them. IMO stripping isn't really much a talent so she deserved the 2 X's. And I also agree with Fuzzie. I'm sure the real KITT would have repremanded he for such behavior and told her to get her behind off his hood.

KITT: "No. I'm a tight end for the Chicago Bears!"

KITTs interior

Post by corlando52 » Thu Aug 03, 2006 5:10 pm

Well, my whole family SCREAMED when we saw KITT last night. Nice replica.
When they showed the interior, I was puzzled. It looked like a Season 3/4 interior but the voicebox looked like an original Season 1.
Also, I thought the way they "blacked out" KITTs windows was to polarize them, then shoot with a polarized lens and rotate it until it blacked out.
I didn't think they actually had a tinted window KITT, except on the old Monagram plastic models.

Thanks, Michael for providing the larger version as well as the smaller ones. :) I still can't get over it, though, the act and all. I'm glad KITT made an appearance though!

It was shockingly surprising to see that the Stripper used KITT. Davin did not know what to think. I was surprised as well. I wish it came out when Passing Zone did thier perforamnce. I think it would have been excellent for the quick change act as well.
