A japanese guy building KITT

Post by Reissuleipa » Mon Mar 20, 2006 11:00 am

There's a guy in japan building his own KITT from scratch. Check his progress here:

http://www.lcv.ne.jp/~aiaki/kitt/kitt.html

The page is in japan so you might want to use babelfish or some other translator. Even without the translations you can see what he is doing and you'll pretty much get the idea.

Man, he definitely knows what he's doing! Sweet car! No wonder, Japanese are so good at building high-tech gadgets, even is they are as big as Kitt :)

that guy installed an oil slick system by cut a hole right below the back bumper. He also made the license plate customized to flip around so that one side is the real license plate and the other side says KNIGHT, amazing!

That is by far the most detailed recreation of KITT I've ever seen. The attention to detail is absolutely amazing. I wonder if he's going to rig a way to open up the super pursuit mode extensions on that car. I know on the cars they used for filming, the one that showed the SPM stuff extending out was not capable of driving, as they had to remove the engine to make room for all of the hydraulics. Then they made a version of the car with all of the SPM stuff already extended for use in "driving around" shots. If anyone could figure out a way to do the retractable convertable mode and SPM on a working car, I bet this guy could do it.
