I've been slowly working on my own 1:18 scale 1st season semi model and took today some pics of it after I put it together temporarely just to get an idea how it'll look like when finished
This model is mostly the "studio" semi interior model but the walls have been cut to look like how the semitrailer was exteriorwise too. I of course don't know the real semi measurements so I went with help of the ERTL 1:18 KITT model, made the model wide enough so KITT's door can be fully opened and as high so the trunklid can be also fully opened.

Yes, I've added the "turnsignal covers" to my KITT model, blacked out the orange foglight and placed a red lense in front of the scanner. Also painted black the rims between spokes, trunk and doorsills are painted in tan colour. I plan to add the chrome L-trims to the interior doorpanels sometime soon too.
As for the semitrailer model, here's one more photo showing how I've cut the walls larger than just the interior:
