Favorite KITT start up sequence

Post by Dave Knight » Wed Feb 05, 2003 1:16 am

you know when KITT starts up the shots of his dash coming alive and shifting into gear etc. mine is in Knight of the Phoenix part II where he busts out of COMTRON, i mean you get the scanner light up, then the dash, the engine firing up, the AUTO button lighting up, then the AUTO CRUISE flashbar coming on, shifting into gear, the pedal pressing to the floor, and him taking off, its my fave and i want to hear yours. also list your favorite shut down sequences like when KITT was in that trailer, and even his tires deflated it etc.

KITT: "I want custody of ME!"

Mine two. It was just so dramatic to see Kitt come alive like that. Also they used the actuall sound of the pop up head lights coming up, which sounds more impressive than the generic motor whine used later, the one used when the doors open automatically. Kitt's turbine actually sounded more like a jet during that scene as you could hear the air charging through the turbine. Sounded like they used some kind of jet airliner engine sound for that, rather than the standard one used later. All in all, good stuff :D .
KITT project is on again!

Currently working on: brand new stock tan interior, almost done!

The earlier episodes also had Kitt 'viewing' where he was going, on the CRT screens, which was a nice touch.

I seen one earlier this week that I watched like ten times when the reporter let him down off the lift. It had the whole dash lighting up with the whirring sound then the LED sequence above his voice mod.

I live for this stuff
Theres no reason for increased volume, I'm scanning your interogitives quite satisfactorilly.

I think most of them are pretty good, but there are some stupid ones.
I really like seeing the dash come alive.

the backround music is perfect for the sequence too and the whole camera angle and everything is just perfect in that sequence.

I get goose bumps just thinking about that scene :)

My fav shut down scene is when kitts in that traler and micheal tells hime to shut down...even teh tires deflat...pretty kewl stuff!

I always liked the engine sounds in the first series. It really did sound like some futurestic turbine type engine. But in the later series you just got the rumbling V8 sound, which wasn't as good.

Can you give an example of a stupid start-up sequence?

Hmm.. I dunno if I have a favorite one.. but I like the longer ones.. that show literally everything pop on, and him shifting, and hitting the lighted gas pedal .. etc.. I can't wait for that to become a reality....

That's my favourite as well. It was great to see K.I.T.T start up and then go to the police station and burst through the wall to get Michael. That one is a great scene.

Well, there is one. I wouldn't exactly says it's stupid, but rather mediocre.
It was in "Knight in Disgrace", when KITT is parked in one of the garges
at FLAG, and Michael walks in to say he's been suspended from duty.
KITT's says "Well I'm glad you've got that all sorted out..." as his
entire dashboard just lights up, all in one go . . .

When the 4-step and voice box come on together, because that's what my Kitt does. :)

I think mine have to be the first two start up sequences in "knight behind bars." Espacailly the first one, where KITT backs out of the parking space and up the driveway.
