That was fun! For me, it's hard to believe that it first aired 35 years ago. I was only 12 years old and it blew me away.

Favorite line: "What's all this? Looks like Darth Vader's bathroom."
One man did make a difference.

My favorite part was when Doug realized the first turbo boost was in the demolition dirby when the announcer announced that a bump in the road caused the car to go airborn. Later in the movie, Kitt activates turbo boost for the first time, without a button pressed by Michael and no sound effect. Strange how Michael is only surprised the car can jump only after it's second jump but not it's first.

I also haven't watched the pilot in years. I suddenly remembered a lot of what I read online and interviews. I remembered David being so pale in the pilot (the scene where they remove the bandages) was because he was throwing up all day on the first day of shooting. He had to psych himself into the role by saying he was the knight rider over and over. The discrepancy between the movie and the novel was that Wilton was continuing his sentence "Kept off the market. Taken away from me like they did my...(private jet)." Lonnie being the instigator of the fight in the house of the rising sun bar. Glen Larson getting the second trans am of the new production line model. How Glen and Stu were working on a techno Cinderella synthesizer music track to come up with the theme song. The Universal Studios test screen footage using the trans am with the front tip scanner and the new footage that was pretty much the rest of the movie. The actor who played Michael Long was a famous magician. How Doug and I were still having the age old argument of how people still believed that was Michael Long's Trans am in the desert used to become the kitt. If so how can you explain Karr being the same make and model.

Re-watching the movie was fun. Wish we could have arranged some live screening of the show on this site while were in the chat room. I loved those nights we had in the chat room watching new episodes of KR08. It go so full, Neil had to set up multiple rooms for us to chat in.

The most bizarre thing about the pilot is that the voice coming out of Phyllis Davis' mouth, is NOT Phyllis Davis' voice at all. Daniel Haller must have really hated her voice; thinking it didn't fit well with the production.
