hey everyone,
I have a quick question. I have no clue what episode this is and the only thing I know about it is that a clip of it shows up in the Season 2 theme. The clip shows Devon and Michael walking next to the semi https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nMB6eUujR7w it's at the 36 second mark. I've been watching KR again lately and I've always wondered what ep the was from. Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks

Speaking of the second season intro, exactly which episode did the second variation start, in which a couple of the clips were changed?

Also, was it intact on the Columbia House VHS tapes?

Think you are referring to the episode Knight moves from season one. It was used in the season 2 intro. Devon allows Michael to use the semi to lure a saboteur into a trap.

First season episode "Hearts of Stone".

Harlan Ambrosio,

I noticed that you edited a "spam" link into your post earlier today. Since you seem to know more about Knight Rider than your average advertiser, I'm going to give you a second chance. You want to talk KR, then cool. However, if you just want to get paid for hits coming from our site, then kindly piss off. :good:

What was the spam link about? Or for? Or the link? Bit harsh there, telling him to "kindly piss off" y'know, but whatever.

Maybe so, but when Jup and I have to clear posts by new members (which Jup did here) just to ensure the site isn't bombarded with ten tons of crap, then you'd understand why editing a post that'd just been approved so you can add a gambling link behind the word "that" might piss me off.

Matt

P.S. That, and I'm highly irritable anyway thanks to an ear infection.

These guys are doing us a huge favor by keeping the forum free and not loaded down with ads every which way, or pulling that "this sub-forum is only accessible for premium members" thing.
I think they get full say in what people are posting. God knows I've pushed the envelope a lot this year.

Oh, it was a gambling link. Alright nevermind then. I mean, it's not like Michael Knight ever gambled or anything...right? :P Anyway, my apologies. Not sure why I wrote anything about being pissed off. Maybe I was pissed off. About being pissed off at being pissed off. Ugh.

Now "that" is a sneaky practice...

Not happy at all at that loop hole.

It's not something I want to do, but the only way I can think of to close it is to put the time limit back on editing posts. What do you think, Jup?

In other communities, the time limit editing has proven very effective. It is nice to have unlimited editing. However, if the tool is going to be abused with such...I'm calling it 'Trojan Horse' tactics of creating legit material and then achieving the ulterior motive, it has to be done. For I'm well aware that the spam bots have been hitting this site up for years.

Almost wish that timed vs. unlimited editing was a feature that could be earned with time and level of user. But, I suspect this engine wasn't designed with that in mind.

I've already implemented a txt note on new users & abusive users to keep future tabs on.

Any thoughts on how long? I remember back when the system was abused years ago that Neil set it to three hours. It was only after that member left permanently that we switched it back.

I've been digging through the settings, and from what I can tell you're right: there isn't a way to apply editing limits to specific ranks or groups.

Three hours sounds reasonable. I suspect the following events took place in this posting. A) The new poster added their 'legit' question. B) I eventually approved it. C) A quoted reply by KittFan triggered an e-mail response over ten hours later. D) Guessing the new poster saw the chance and edited after that.

Hopefully, situations like this are rare. If three hours proves to still have too much slack, it can be lessened. However, people shouldn't be seeking out loop holes in the first place.

Pretty annoying that the episode question was just to inject spam link here :( Seemed like a legit question so I fell into the trap

He conned all of us, KITTfan. Hell, I considered answering the question before you got to it bud, but decided since I wasn't logged in to give someone else the chance.

I've set the limit to three hours, Jup. Since you and I don't get to new member posts as quickly as we might like to anyway, I'm hoping it'll be enough. You're right though, seeking out loopholes is a proper shіtty thing to do.

It's alright, KITTfan. In a perfect world, the internet would be a fantastic place for information and entertainment of all safe varieties. Such a world would also have no need of Michael and Kitt. We just have to stay watchful over those whom may have ulterior motivations.

These days, I'm in here around 10 minutes (at most) on any given day. For a rather long stretch in recent years, it may have been more like 10 minutes in any given week.

*scratches head* I was on a forum where post editing was an acquired feature after attaining a membership level. Is it a vBulletin feature? Not sure what the price of vBulletin is running these days. However, I think that same forum also used the reputation points, which were, of course, abused mightily to leave little snotty notes for each other.

That's...actually a good idea. Editing a post or editing something should only be attainable maybe after a couple of posts or a certain rank.

And, it's rather weird that the board does assign 'titles' via various factors, yet can't offer other upgrades.

Has anyone ever been to the Miami Vice forum? Whatever that forum runs on, it's really sophisticated I must admit. Or classy. I don't know, but I'd like to see this forum hopefully get to that stage at some point. http://miamiviceonline.com Reference.

MVO's IPBoard seems much more advanced than the old school software (phpBB) KRO runs, I guess.
