Fine as a 2015 Mustang but...

Post by K2000kid » Sun May 25, 2014 10:13 am

has anyone tried to reimagine the 1982 TA in this day and age
The new Camaro uses the lines from the late 60's and doesnt really fit
Theres no reason for increased volume, I'm scanning your interogitives quite satisfactorilly.

Yeah the 5th gen camaros look like the 60s 70s. The 5th gen mustangs look like the 60s 70s.
The only car i see that fit the body lines of the 3th gen trans am is the new corvette.
But i do like the 5th gen mustangs as kitt

Style and design wise I will always favor the Acura NSX concept car. Just the front SCREAMS KITT. I never liked the Mustang, it's not the right car for something sophisticated. Mustang is a more "down-to-earth" car to me.

Thats not kitt. Kitt is not a exotic car!

Corvette looks better then that.

The new mustangs are too round and curvy to be Kitt. The concept car at least share some of lines of the old Kitt design from the front.

"KITT is NOT an exotic car???" Remember when KITT first came out in the 80's, most cars were blocky looking. KITT was visibly sleeker than many cars on the road, and many people in the original series was attracted to its sleeker design (although it was just considered the Black T-Top). Although the Firebird/TA isn't a super flashy Ferrari or a Corvette, It could be considered an exotic looking car compared to the other cars in the 80's timeline. With that said with the current flashy cars out there, the Acura NSX would be considered my top pick for KITT. Although the newest Corvette Stingray is a close second. I like the sleekness of the Acura, and the front is perfect for a scanner. Also the hideaway lights kinda give homage to the flip-up lights that KITT had. If it has a backseat, I gotta keep it as Number One on my list.

Other cars that might look good enough to be KITT in my opinion are two other concept cars, the Pontiac Rageous and the Pontiac GTO Concept. I'm not a real fan of the newest styled Mustang or the Camaro for KITT. The classic styling is a homage to the era before the 80's and just seems un-Kitt-like in my opinion. The 2015 Mustang looks almost like a Ferrari 599xx and the new Camaro looks like it's built for power rather than sleekness, but that's really in most of the newer models, even the FIreBreather series. But the Acura looks like a sleek sportscar....especially in Convertible Mode.

I really like the front of the Acura NSX.The sides and back not so much.I've added it to one of the old camaro pics I've manipulated to see how would it look with the front being more of a pointy edge than the camaro front.

Actually this isn't a mustang thread. If you'll reread the first post in this thread,K2000kid wanted to hear people's opinion on what a reimagined trasn am would look like in this day and age.The front looks close to what the final generation of trans ams/firehawks looked like. The back was flat but its still closer looking to the trans am than the mustang. The lines in the front look closer to kitt's 82 style body than the mustang as well.

Why does the new kitt have to look like the old kitt trans am?
Don't get me wrong i love the 82 trans ams kitt i have a 92 firebird kitt replica.

I can see the 98-02 ram air trans am with the 2 red lights in the front like this car being the new kitt.

I used to think the last generation of trans ams was the way to go for kitt's new body but now i'm considering the camaro with some changes like Michael Scheffe did with the trans am in 82.

Why put the third gen trans am wheels on the 4th gen? They belong to the third gen they dont look right on the 4 gen TA.

Those are some nice plain looking Mustang pics. Just wondering when you plan on photoshopping them to look like Kitt?

No more Mustangs!!! They are far too clumsy looking to be a super high tech rolling computer. The Firebreather is by far the best, or a complete Firebird prototype, but no Mustangs any more for God's sake.

The Firebreather body kit on a camaro OMG! The camaro or the camaro with a trans am /Firebreather body kit is VERY UGLY for kitt!
I think the new camaro or new camaro with a trans am/Firebreather body would be good for a new smokey and the bandit movie but not knight rider movie.
Keep kitt as a mustang stop changing cars!

I see u just signed up and made 2 post on just on the mustang threads. Get out of here!
