KITT had a system

Post by ScottyMan82 » Sun Oct 13, 2013 12:59 pm

In Goliath, when Michael and KITT were playing Blackjack, didn't Michael think that KITT could count cards? KITT kept winning and Michael kept losing. KITT was a cheater.

I always thought he meant the roulette wheel again.I actually figured out a small system of my own with about a 65% chance of winning.

Really? You are more than welcome to gamble at my casino any time and use your "system"! :)

I was on vacation in Atlantic City and spent a few days on nothing but slot machines. The final hour,I watched a roulette table and figured out an interesting system.36 numbers divided by 12,each divided into 3 sets. The probability is about 33% that the number that will come up will be one in those 3 sets(not factoring in 0,00).Check the numbers that come up the most and bet only within those 2 sets out of 3.Lose on one set and gain double on the other.

The next time I went there I tried it out made some cash. When I took a co-worker there,I tried to explain it to him but he was skeptical until he saw it for himself. He then asked me to start betting with his money. After a few hours.I made $380 for myself and about $120 for him. Thanks Kitt, next car was is on me.

Guess this is the scene in the episode where Michael says,"Oh no,not again.I'm out of here." where the guy tried to befriend Michael to win more casino games.

Knight Racer, I'm glad you won some money. But it's not because of a "system", it's because you got lucky.

You can hit a good streak, sure. But over time - even over a short run - the math will never work out in your favor.

Oh,I never said it was a sure thing. The chances of you winning with that system is about 2 out of 3.I'd take those odds over a slot machine or any computer controlled screen system.

Sorry Knight Racer, but that's not how the odds work.

The wheel has no memory. "Betting on numbers that come up the most" is meaningless.

Let's call it 3 columns: A, B and C.

You bet $10 in column A and $10 in column B. You are spending $20 per spin.

1/3 of the time, A will win and you will have a net gain of $10. (Your $10 bet wins you $20, but you lost the $10 from column B.)
1/3 of the time, B will win and you will have a net gain of $10.
1/3 of the time, C will win and you will lose $20.

You "win" 2/3 of the time, but your earnings are only 1/2 of your losses. Over time, you will break even. Add the 0 and 00 spots, and the wheel will always, always favor the house.

Interesting way of seeing it.I wonder how long that usually takes to happen.I've always walked away with a few hundred. It's how I usually start off my vacation weekend to pay for any activities I want to do that week.
