Just heard the turbo boost sound in another show
The pilot episode of Quantum Leap has it in the first 5 minutes when Al's experimental vehicle which looks like a sports car accelerates.You can also hear the zoom sound from pursuit mode I think.I guess many shows sound studios bought the same sound clips.

specially since both shows were done by Universal I know I heard that sound your talking about on Battlestar Galactica (the fighter jets made it when they took off from the Galactia).

Columbo which was also a Universal show used a few of the same sounds, namely the thump of the doors being closed and the famous tire screeching sound. I remember that sound effect. I am sure it was just the sound of KITT's engine running as KITT was cruising but you may be right.

Some of the sound F/X was also shared with Airwolf, since they also part of Universal too!

Funny you should say that, I was watching Quantum Leap on Netflix and noticed the turbo boost sound, I think it was the pilot episode. I was like ooooo I know that sound effect haha
