Problem with mine other than the right t-top not being able to sit flush is that for some reason, the rear seat on mine can't incline all the way so that its leaning.
Looks like your headlights don't sit flush either, or was that just something over looked when you made the video? I'm really torn on this model, I canceled the Elite and pre-ordered the Super Elite but not sure I want to shell out that much money if that's the level of quality control we can expect for that kind of money. Call me ignorant but I think that t-top should fit and the seats should work properly (Latching and folding) for $160 let alone $350.

The headlights on mine sits ok.. I did not push it in till it clicked before I did the video. Only after doing the video did I realize the headlights needed to be pushed down till a click is heard, then the button will reset and the lights will be sitting flushed in its place as shown in the photo below...

No matter how hard I push it against the back of the interior, the seat keeps staying in an almost 90 degree position.. Other than that, it sure is an impressive piece.
I've got another 80's car, '81 Ford Escort Mk3 in 1/18 by Sunstar and it has the same flaw in the backseat if I understood correctly. Altough this one is much cheaper than the Hotwheels KITT, it still is quite annoying as there is big visible gap between the rear seat and parcel shelf. Haven't figured out exactly why it doesn't sit properly in place but my guess is the backrest makes contact with the rear wheel wells, perhaps those areas in the backrest are shaped wrong or my sample has some manufacturing error.

Looks to be a similar problem. I think the only way to fix my rear seat problem is by opening up the entire model which I don't plan on doing anytime soon..hahaha.. I do feel tempted to just glue the back of the seat so it leans properly in place....hmmm... It sure is annoying though. The rear seat actually bothers me a lot more than the passenger side t-top cover not being able to sit flush..haha

Hmmm.. They are of the same 1/18 scale. So even if the measurements are off between the two, its probably not by much. I don't have the RC2 KITT with me for now since its still at my mum's place ever since I moved out recently. Either way, I highly recommend the HW KITT since its basically better than the RC2 in more ways than one... Here is a photo Daniel had uploaded of both cars together...

Had the ERTL KITT on hand and width with mirrors is 11,5cm (4.5 inch) and length 27,5cm which converted to inches is 10.8.
Conversion done in http://www.manuelsweb.com/in_cm.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;, the first result in Google search :P

First my all 18th scale KR cars:

Here's all KITT's and KARR I have:

I love that every detail I had to do myself to the ERTL KITT is already done in Hotwheels, for example:

The bulge is the result of making room for the PC board for the flashing lights.

Hey KITTFAN, i noticed one of your 1/18 KITT cars has a blue scanner.Did you modify it yourself, or was that an actual diecast KITT car that was released?Cheers! :kitt:

It looks like a reflection of something to me.

Thanks for the interest jinkazama :)

The blue colour in one KITT's scanner is indeed just a reflection, that particular model has red transparent lense in front of the scanner which seems to create unwanted reflections in some conditions.

I photographed two 1/18 ERTL KITT + KARR, Hotwheels KITT in three scales (one 1/64 in unopened condition... so far :P ) and the black hardtop is Greenlight Collectibles 1/18 Pontiac Trans-Am GTA '89.

There's also Majorette 1/64 black Pontiac Trans-Am in one of the photos which has red scanner sticker pasted by me, also a cardboard KITT from the 80's, probably from cornflakes or Weetabix box, don't remember exactly anymore :)

It was a custom made model made for me personally by Tony Westwood who can be found over at KRUK.com.

Sadly I do not own it anymore.

In my original reply I thought you meant what were the other scales but after re-reading this thread I realized perhaps you meant the different 18th scale versions I pictured in these photos:

So here's an addendum to my original answer :)

From left to right:
1. ERTL Joyride KITT, updated version with all clear foglights. Factory original condition.
2. ERTL Joyride KARR, additional details done by me.
3. ERTL Joyride KARR, additional details done by me, major change done in the foglight area which included cutting the metal pillars between the foglights to create one wide opening per side.
4. Hotwheels KITT, factory original condition.
