I attended the KNIGHT RIDER REUNION. To be honest, I had a great time. Overall I would say the event was a huge success. It's true, there was no replica Semi set. I heard there were some unavoidable problems. But there were several original props from the Semi, including the large, wedge shaped computer that was in the Semi. I talked to a lot of people over the weekend and I never heard one single negative comment. Despite rumors I heard on the web prior to the event about most of the celebrities
cancelling, 90% percent were there and seemed to have a great time.

The VIP party at the Hard Rock Cafe was a blast! It was run very well, the food was great, and the first 2 drinks were free. The celebrities made it a point to mingle and talk to everyone there. I was surprised when Rebecca Holden turned, locked eyes with me and yelled, "Mark!", ran over and threw a hug around my neck. She has a fantastic memory. Carmen Argenziano was booked at the last minute for a film shoot on Saturday, but made a point of
coming to the party at the Hard Rock so that the fans were not disappointed. My buddy, and now Atlanta citizen, Ron Martinez was as usual, the life of the party. I think we all left about 1:00 AM.

Saturday was a ton of fun. The weather was California perfect. There was a nice line up of KITT replicas, including Craig's ever popular Deceptikarr. The panels were a KNIGHT RIDER fans treat. The behind the scenes stories told were like they happened yesterday. I always knew Ron Martinez has some great stories, but assistant director Louis Race really gave Ron a run for his money. Hasselhoff stunt Terry James double gave new insight to the production of the stunts with memories he brought back. He revealed a lot of secrets of how certain things were done. What a great guy.

Sondra Currie from "Not A Drop To Drink" and Daphne Ashbrook from "A Knight In Shining Armor" are both still as beautiful as ever. They were both amazed that people remembered them for a job they did 30 years ago. Richard Anderson from "Knight Of The Phoenix" is a television and a class act. He is old school Hollywood and showed up dressed in a tie and blazer. Jeff Osterhage from "KITT vs KARR" is a really nice guy and was also very appreciative that the fans appreciated his role as John Stanton. I've known Jeff through email and phone calls for about a year. He was invited to SOUTHERN KNIGHTS ATLANTA for this years show, but was unable to attend due to a professional commitment. However, I was able to help book him for this event. I really enjoyed finally meeting him in person.

Peter Parros was another wonderful guest. He has hardly aged a day since 1986. He was very acomodating to the fans. Also, his beautiful wife Jerri was with him. She was also in an episode, "Fright Knight" as the girl in the golf cart that RC III meets at the end of the episode.

Alan J. Levy, who is married to Sondra Currie was another classy guy. He directed 'KNIGHT RIDER 2000". I enjoyed talking with him at the VIP party. He's got a nice resume of directing credits.

This event was a very enjoyable all KNIGHT RIDER event despite the efforts of some jealous and spiteful people trying to throw a monkey wrench into it. Maybe you don't like some of the folks putting the event on. We're not going to like everyone we meet. But everyone I encountered over the weekend had fun. There were people from all over the US. Also Australia, Germany, Japan, the UK, and other countries. I had no regrets about attending. In fact, i was asked to act as the auctioneer for the charity auction. I'm proud to say I got the fans to raise over $2500.00 in auction sales for the Children's Hospital of Los Angeles. Plus the money raised from the charity raffle. Stuntman Terry James donated his personal first season crew belt buckle to the auction. I was able to get the final bid up to $550.00! Also, a custom Michael Knight doll sold for $600.00! I even donated a Comlink watch & stand and some license plates. The fans really came through.

As someone that puts on a KNIGHT RIDER event, I can appreciate all the hard work that goes into an event like KNIGHT RIDER REUNION. I am really sick of all the fighting, insulting, name calling, and just plain childish behavior from a few select people in this hobby. I used to get into it on the boards over some of the silliest things. I finally realized that life was too short and people have their differences and flaws. I think that there are those on
both sides that have said and done things that that they shouldn't. I think it's past time to try to mend the fences. It takes a big man, or woman to put out the olive branch of peace. After all, this is just a 30 year old tv show. I have other parts of my life and this is just a small part of it. For the most part, I'm sure the majority of the fans on this and other boards have no time for the crap either. I just want to build my KITT replica and enjoy the hobby.

This is an oddly sensitive topic and is more complicated than most people realize.

The Knight Rider Reunion event happened. You've seen some photos and reports. But at this point we're going to lock the thread and just leave the topic as is. We ask that there not be further discussion.

If you have any questions about this, PLEASE send me or another moderator a private message with any of your concerns. Thank you.
