I've got a 1983 Pontiac trans am with 140k miles on it that would make a good base for a KITT conversion. the 305 spun a rod bearing and needs rebuilt. i've got a new in the box crank and new bearings and the motor is out of the car. The car has very little rust (only one spot on the driver side rear 1/4 panel) it's got power windows, but manual locks and mirrors. comes with the original t-top bags as well as new t-top seals. the wheels are the 15" cast wheels, not the proper 15" bowling ball wheels. Car is located in fort myers, FL. i'll throw in an engine stand and a 3000lb cherry picker for an extra $150.

Sounds about right, I responded too swiftly before I took in what I read lol. Absolutely though, I think maybe even a little low judging from the pictures. I bought 2 front fenders for $500 off ebay and they were no where near the nice condition that yours are. In fact it looks pretty solid to me. Plus factor in how rare the tail lights are becoming, a great looking hood, etc etc. Yeah thats definitely a steal for a parts car. If I lived close to you I would be all over it! lol And no offense intended I'm not saying its only good for parts hahaha!

none taken. truthfully i just bought it last week to fix it up and sell it for a profit and feel like maybe i bit off more than i can chew so i figured maybe i can just sell it for a small profit as is. the guy i bought it from needed it out of his residence ASAP and delivered everything to me. as far as the body/interior goes. its basically all there except for the front grills. the taillights are in good shape like you said, and the hood is too. the underbody is clean and really the only rust is on that rear left fender. i would part it out if nothing else but i really don't have the room to store car parts and it really is imo, a clean enough car to save. heck even the dash pad, although not a proper 83 one, is uncracked (it's the 85-90 style)

I really don't want to part this car out. it's too nice imo.

how about $1200 for the car AND the cherry picker and engine stand?

this is the only rust on the body, drivers side rear quarter.

Not to be rude seeing how the "Market" is now,I doubt you'll get that price for it :? But being a 5-speed you might get more bites  Have you tried selling it on TGO ???

bump. car is still for sale, it is a 5 speed and i don't think the fender is aftermarket. it is a replacement i'm guessing but it lines up ok. it just looks off in that pic above due to not having any gold decals on it. as for the rust, its just surface rust on that one fender and no under carriage rust. i'm thinking about getting it repainted at MAACO in jet black. as it sits without new paint i'm now asking $3250 obo.

it has grills in the bumper now as well.

Looks like it has turbo finned rims. Buy some replica bowling ball hubcaps off ebay. And zip tie them on and you would be good to go. :D
