Re: Sneak Peek of New Hot Wheels 1/18 KITT!!
Where in my post did I say I was a toy collector???????
I just stated that this is a toy, it's not a scale model kit.
Some of the details will not be perfect because it is a TOY!

Re: Sneak Peek of New Hot Wheels 1/18 KITT!!
You know this is just a TOY right? All details wont be 100% correct.
Brian has a REAL 1:1 scale, that is incredibly accurate. He's just pointing out that this is a toy, NOT a scale model. Take a look at his REAL KITT if you want to see something impressive. He doesn't collect TOYS!You´re right!!! You are a toy collector. I am a scale model car collector. Can You feel the difference? I believe, how I can see here, that if a maker do a VW Beetle w/ front scanner, You will buy it.

im aware that it will be a toy but im just pointing out the errors because im going to have it modified so it will be a model that looks exactly as it did in the show. im just being a perfectionist thats all, cheers mate.knightdriver wrote:Where in my post did I say I was a toy collector???????

My friend,
Hotwheels Elite is not a toy. It`s scale model kit. SO, THEY MUST DO IT PERFECTLY!!!
Re: Sneak Peek of New Hot Wheels 1/18 KITT!!
to me it's still a toy only plastic model who require assembling are almost perfect when correctly build hotwheels is a too big compagnie ,and the model should be limited to only a few hundred to be better and built by a premium companie not as well know, with less promo but more result in the end. This won't happen cause they built realist model not movie or "chidish" thing ,thats why there is no perfect KITT except the aoshima plastic models

Re: Sneak Peek of New Hot Wheels 1/18 KITT!!
These are not toys, they have lots of small parts which can break easily if it's played by children and if the child swallows those detached parts, he/she can choke to death. Usually modelcars aren't suitable for under 14 years old children. These 1/18, 1/25 and 1/43 cars are supposed to be accurate scale models even they may or may not have some inaccuracies.
Toycars are totally different things, they don't have fragile details which can easily break, for example exterior mirrors are separate parts, as accurately shaped as possible & with reflecting surface in scale models but in toycars they are simply molded to the metal body or missing completely.

This is so true! I follow three modelcar forums and there's not one woman in any of them.Pierre wrote:for wife or girlfriend they are unnecessary thing that catch dust lol it could be the most détailled model they still say stupide toy lol
I've heard some women collect Barbies, I wonder what their reaction would be if some guy would say Barbies are just stupid toys, I bet hell would break loose

Just thought i'd chime in here. Hot Wheels Elite Die-Cast Models are in no shape or form a TOY.

P.S.
Tell me if you think this is a toy you would let a kid crash into a wall?

People, there's no need to get specific. The poster that mentioned that it was a toy is meaning to say that we shouldn't get "ocd" over the miniscule details.
On a separate note, does the spell checker thing (the one that puts red underlines under our words) not recognise the word miniscule? It thinks it is spelt in error.

Hotwheels = Toy. thats what they make. Toys.
It might be an expensive quality item but in the end it is still of Toy.
A really good looking toy, but a toy.
You have three catagories.
Toys
Models
Real thing.
No big deal either way. It's a nice product (Noted Flaws and all).

We will agree to disagree. The Hot Wheels Elite Brand are not Toys and geared specifically to the Adult collector.

At the end of the day, they're all toys. Some will be catered and made for the adult collector, while most will be catered for kids. With that, I'm a 29 yr old toy collector Been one since my teenage days.

Compared it to my 1:1 KITT...looks correct to me. Your picture appears to be skewed:kittvskarr1984 wrote:Here is another error. The side lights arent flush.mvgs2011 wrote:I´m so happy that one person understand me. Thank you!

Hot Wheels Elite just sent us some updated pictures of their latest prototype - they've pretty detailed with colors and dash applied - check it out - and please share the link everywhere you can!

Hate to do nothing but complain, but oh wow that camel tan is nasty, hope that's still just a prototype.
Edit - Ha never thought it could be the lighting making it look like that. I'll wait until it's in my possession to pass judgement!

In the "News" section, it says to pre-order as it's a limited 10,000 run, but where?neps wrote:Hot Wheels Elite just sent us some updated pictures of their latest prototype - they've pretty detailed with colors and dash applied - check it out - and please share the link everywhere you can!

Re: Sneak Peek of New Hot Wheels 1/18 KITT!!
My jaw just dropped! For a prototype, that looks very good. Some flaws I noticed straight away such as the wheels in particular, those hubs just look really odd. They look too small. Very nice details for the trunk area though, and it looks like the rear seat can be folded forward for a bigger trunk space just like the real car. And in one of the photo, the KNIGHT plate looks like it can rotate...interesting. Dashboard looks spectacular too. It seems brighter and looks to be more enhanced than the ERTL ever was. Overall, judging by this painted prototype, its a big improvement over the ERTL. I better start saving up for it!!!
Pre-orders should be up at various websites soon such as Entertainment Earth, Big Bad Toy Store and other websites selling toy collectibles. Hoping to get mine locally from a store that brings in Hot Wheels Elite.. Thats where I got my impressive Elite Ecto-1.

Re: Sneak Peek of New Hot Wheels 1/18 KITT!!
It looks really good. I noticed the same thing with the wheels, the wheels are too small, and the tire sidewals are too tall. Now, with the season 1 nose, there is the grille work over the fog lights. Will this have working fog lights??? Will it have working headlights besides flipping up??? Can we see an updated video of the scanner??? The last video of the scanner didn't look quite right, more like the Ertl scanner.

Re: Sneak Peek of New Hot Wheels 1/18 KITT!!
The movement of the scanner on the Hot Wheels looks so much better than the one on the ERTL. No doubt it needs to be improved as I've seen better, more accurate moving scanner on the Aoshima 1/24 KITT plastic models. The ERTL one on the other hand was basically blinking and looked nothing close to the real scanner.
As a refresher, here is the video of the scanner on the prototype Hot Wheels KITT.... >>> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PTY_-pmyv_g

Re: Sneak Peek of New Hot Wheels 1/18 KITT!!
Hi,
i just wanted to tell that i'am very disappointed with the nose of this model..
i already pre ordered it, but if this the nose that will be on the final product, i will think of cancelling it...
i will wait for more pics, but it seems not right to me, and at that kind of price, i can't accept that.
See the comparaison with the real kitt, and with the custom model from mvgs2011 (viewtopic.php?f=2&t=17800" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;):
i really wish they will change the shape of the nose, and make it more the custom model above..

Re: Sneak Peek of New Hot Wheels 1/18 KITT!!
Hmmm... Maybe the nose area had to be thicker to accommodate the electronics for the model....
