im sorry guys but this model is unforgivable. i totally agree with marcos. hot wheels ghostbusters, a-team and the batmobile 1:18 have accurate bodies which is the most important part of car models especially in 1/18 size. why shouldnt knight rider's kitt get that same treatment. thats an insult to the show, kitt and the fans of the show.

I will say it looks quite squatty.... Like it could stand to be stretched an inch or two

Tuske,

Thanks for the informations. I understood perfectly what You said. Based on this, I think that is necessary an other maker to make a Knight Rider model for the modellers. More accurate, without that restrictions.

I saw Your 1967 Firebird. It`s a classic. I love it. You are doing a good work on this. You still have a hard work to finish It. Congratulations! Show me when finalized.

Thank You,

Marcos

Along with KITT, here's hoping they release KARR as well. And most importantly, among other things, let's hope they add the KARR license plate and make the flashing scanner YELLOW which ERTL failed to do. I can hardly wait to get my hands on those beauties. When HW releases KARR, it will make me wanna sing this song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ckxh0JPTSyk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

The connection is that Paul Frees sang this song as well as voiced KARR in KITT VS KARR.

Now that I mentioned KARR, it would be nice if HW provided 2 variations of it:
All JET BLACK body
&
2-TONE body

BOTH WITH YELLOW SCANNER AND KARR LICENSE PLATE, OF COURSE

You mean the ERTL KARR had a wrong colored scanner??? Here is my 1/18 ERTL KARR... But its the Aoshima repainted version of the ERTL KITT which they released alongside KITT..

Unlike the half hearted KARR that ERTL released many months after releasing KITT, the one from Aoshima had at least a KARR license plate and a better finish..

True as I was kinda referring to the ERTL version. But it would be nice if the scanner was a little more yellow as well. And I was saying since we see KARR in 2 different formats in the KITT VS KARR episode that why I say so. The only difference between the 2, of course, would be one is all jet black and the other is 2-tone. And the font of the license plate should be a bit more refined as well.

Hi I just joined KRO because I saw a post by romanticguy stating that he's hoping that karr is released. If you tweet diamond distributers which I did and asked about karr, they in fact told me that they will be releasing karr sometime down the road. The person from the company did not give me an official release date or what style karr will be in as it is in the planning stages, plus they haven't even released kitt yet. If you don't believe me tweet them and ask. Just thought I would share what I learned from diamond. Thanks. :karr:

KARR is a no brainer. Its like releasing an Optimus Prime toy, you have to have Megatron. If they do KITT, they have to do KARR. And knowing Hot Wheels, they will probably see how the KITT car sells before they decide to do KARR. And as for DST, for sure they will do KARR seeing as they did do KARR in their Minimates line... I'd love to see them do a KITT convertible though as it has never been done before by anyone. Excluding the custom made ones of course ;-) Of coz, it would even be more awesome if Hot Wheels could do a KITT convertible...

This 1:18 DCC would only be accurate for making the season one KARR. (Obvious voice box and removal of license plate deco changes needed) Season 3 had a different nose and would need a tooling change. Also, the rotating license plate feature would be useless, as the season one KARR didn't have a plate.

Any news on when the Hot Wheels Elite KITT will be out?

I've read earlier in the thread later in the year, close to Christmas, just wondering if anyone has any more details on when the car is due out?

I've looked at the Hot Wheels Elite site but there dosen't appear to be any news there ether.

thanks

Here's a link to a shop with the models for pre-order - http://www.diecastlegends.com/new-annou ... ter_type=1" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

There won't be any product samples until probably next February, at the Toy Fair in Germany.

Looks like you are paying extra for a sound chip

maybe it lights up as well?

Don't jump the gun just yet. Remember the Super Elite 1966 Batmobile?

No I am not familiar with that one at all, what was the differences, if any?

It does mention the sound chip in the above link, which it dosen't mention in the regular HW Elite model.

I am pretty sure from memory there was sound on the HW SDCC model as well.

What SDCC model?

The difference between the Elite ans Super Elite 1966 were minimal. Basically, you paid extra for a shiney base and spanky box. If you search online, yoi'll see some write ups about it.
