Wouldn't it be great to talk into your phone and kitt's voice responds like Siri does for iphone?

Does anyone know if this is possible? I googled and there isn't much out there. I found this article: http://www.gottabemobile.com/2011/10/05 ... ent-voice/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; which basically says likely not going to happen... but I would LOVE, LOVE, LOVE for the voice of Siri on my iphone 4s to be the voice of Kitt!!

I would settle for someone with voice recognition software to set up a system where kitt responds to lines from the show.Like what does kitt stand for.I have about 2000 clips that could be used if anyone has the knowhow.

There is someone in Germany who is working on this. His name is Chris, and originally had KITT-Talk 1.4. He is now working on KITT Talk 2011. Not only can you select the phrase that KITT responds to your voice with (so you can use phrases from the show, or anything actually), but he's making it to interface with outside relays through the usb port. To explain, you can say, "KITT, turn on the lamp", and he will respond with "Right Away, Michael", and then the lamp will turn on. He's also integrated lots of other features, like a voicebox on the screen, the lower console on the screen. You can check it out at the link below. I had KITT-Talk 1.4 and I couldn't get it to work, but this is much more sophisticated. He also does all this for FREE! Here's the link (you may need to have a translator on your computer...I use Google Chrome which translates automatically):

He's also on this forum:

Do you know how far he is from completing it?Does he speak English?I would love to help him speed up the project timeline by giving him the 2000 clips I have.

He does speak English. I have no idea when he will be finished with it. As the name suggests, he's been at this since the beginning of 2011. The voice clips won't help him, as you are the one to assign the files to the voice recognition. Think of it being programmed like this: If "open window" is spoken, choose from one of these phrases: (you download whatever phrases you want into the program folder. You can have multiple phrases listed and it will randomly select which one to respond with, so it can be different every time, making it seem more like AI); then select an action you would like it to perform, ie, open the window, which might be relay #1).

It's a very sophisticated system. His first KITT-talk used Dragon Naturally Speaking as a vehicle for his software, and Windows XP, so I bought it. But now, his 2011 version uses Windows 7 and whatever speech recognition it supplies. So, I need a new laptop with Windows 7.

Well I just realized I'm replying to a 4 year old thread, but is there any update on this?

Computers are becoming more amazing with every passing year. After all, Google is running this vocal recognition software service that makes this kind of project a bit easier to pull off. I had literally tried it out after getting that dirt cheap tablet. By speaking clearly into the mic, it would churn out my words to text, almost flawlessly. Which means that if you are good with programming, you can tie in this Google service with your program so that when you speak to your KITT, Google understand and spits out the words that your program can use to play a .WAV file. Or, even better, a speech synthesizer program. Now...getting that program to sound like the Knight Two Thousand is still quite a bit more complicated.

We need someone to have William Daniels to a phoenitc alphabet recording. Paramount did the same for Majel Barret before she passed. With a phonetic alphabet, you can use software to assemble a life-like voice. At that point, the sky is the limit for what you'd want KITT to say back to you.

Is that how it works? Well...I am familiar that there was this specialized Knight Rider GPS unit produced a few years ago. I believe it even had a William Daniels sounding voice to it. So...maybe the work has already been done?????????

I know that Neil had purchased one when he headed out to Comic Con in 2007.
