KITT's scanner as iPhone tone

The new iOS 5 update lets you buy new sound effects for iPhone alerts and one of them is KITT's scanner. A couple problems with it: For starters, it's listed as "K.I.T.T.'s Eye Sound". It's a scanner, not an eye... always bugged me. And the other issue is that it's not a very good quality sound. It's very hissy, as if it were captured at a really low bit rate.

It just seems cheap. I don't know who officially licensed it, or even if it is licensed, but they dropped the ball on this one.

Make your own Mike. Its not that hard, find the sound effect you want to use, drag it into itunes, right click, convert to AAC, drag it to your desktop rename the extension from m4a to m4r, double click it and it goes right to your ringtone library, wireless synch and done. Any sound effect you want for a ringtone. :good:

I have a really clean non-processed sample of Kitts scanner if you need it.

I think the creator was probably referring to the fact that K.I.T.T.'s scanner functioned as his "eyes," more or less. Or at the very least his audio/video camera. But I agree the wording is annoying and sounds more like he's confusing it with a Cylon from Battlestar Galactica.
