Finished DASH!

Post by ws6air » Sat Mar 05, 2011 4:20 pm

AH, I figured, Let's get on with it.......I think I'm smiling..... Turned out cool.... fixed some things also, but at the same time, marked some stuff up too. These things get very heavy after everything is in. It's going to happen, but I'll fix it, it's not big of boo , boos, but anyway. I think it turned out nice. Now for pics.....They are not the best but oh well....Thanks for looking

Marc

P.S. These are the same pics in my conversion page, but I just thought I'd celebrate.

Marc,
Beautiful job! Are you going to be bringing your car to the SOUTHERN KNIGHTS ATLANTA event? I would love to see that in person.

That car is a way from being done, but ALL the KR stuff is done. It's also getting painted in April, so, yey, I'm siked, but I wish I could make it with the car. Anyway. I need to get signed up for the show though, that reminds me, thanks.....

Marc,

I just wanted to chime in and say how FANTASTIC your dash looks! You absolutely nailed the look of it...if I didnt know better, I would have thought you found an original stage dash!

Looking really cool :) Of all KITT's features the dashboard must be one of the most impressive ones. I also love the fact that your car is primer grey/white, just like KITT in Junk Yard Dog episode and we have seen the screenshot of KITT having the 2-tv dashboard in it, I guess Bonnie had to temporarely install the original equipment in order to bring KITT back with all experience he had until the acid pit ;)

Welcome aboard the knight 2000.It is a one of a kind car.It is the fastest, safest, strongest car in the world.it is also entirely fuel efficient and guided by microprocessors which make it virtually impossible for it to be involved in any mishap or collision.

That dash is amazing! The flat black finish is exquisite! Don't shine it up, it's perfect as it is!!!

Thanks guys, I appreciate the comments. Joe, thanks.... I was striving for a dash to look the part of one of the Universal dashes. I appreciate that comment. Thanks again to Billy, Brennon, Eric, Thone, Russo, Huth, Ken, and Andy G for the support (listening to my crazy @ss is a job!) and parts. You all don't get enough credit, and without you all, the hobby would not be where it is today. The replica cars just keep getting better because of the exploring and homework these all do. (along with others) Thanks again guys for the comments and the support, now let's get it painted. Talk to you all in April!!!

That is a real work of art - made all the more accurate by the matte finish - and of particular excellence for being the pilot version...!!

Beautiful dash, show like quality. Great job! One question for you: what happens to the front air-vents? Do you just shut them off and use the window and foot vents instead? I always wondered about that living here in Vegas and all, the summers get crazy hot.

It depends on what you use for monitors... If you go with CRTs, like myself....color ones also....then you can forget about having anything but floor vents.... as you have to have room for the CRTs guts... If you do LCD, you can pretty much , keep everything about the original dash. except the pad... LCDs are the way to go, I especially like the square bezel that most don't do, but it is not done much, as for the reason I like it, plus , it was KITT for parts of 1st season...So.... Hope this helps out. I just did a last test fit on this thing....I now have the CRTs tested, working together, no hum bars anymore, Vbox and countdown, check, working.... Wiring up rest of it now .... getting it slowly ready to mate when I get the engine running this year... Can't wait....Talk to ya soon
