Gas Prices/ Electric Knight 3000

Post by taoworm2323 » Wed Mar 02, 2011 2:16 pm

So I decided to get the Knight 3000 converted to an all electric vehicle.
And no, it's not because I'm 'green' or because I care about the earth.
(I do my part to NEVER recycle and to litter when I can lol)
With gas prices set to rise over $4.00 a gallon...it just makes sense.

hum actually in france it's more than 8 euros a gallion almost 10$ it's why there is no V8 only 4cylinder and some very rare V6 and to the best we have to pay extra green taxes and in 2012 a taxe that could cost 10000$ a year for a V8 so I think that the knight dream will be out of my league by far

I'm pretty sur they'll put taxes on eletrics cars for the batterie reconditionniing just to make more money.

Wow! Thats outrageous how much money your spending for gas over there Pierre.
This whole green tax thing sucks! It's just another way they can make money off of us.

Tao, that's awesome to hear that you are going all electric, I'm very interested to see how that all goes for you. It's funny how we here in the U.S. think we have it so bad with gas prices but as Pierre points out, Europe has it much worse. Personally, as much as I love muscle cars and big vehicles, our country loves to overindulge with gas-sucking transportation powered with V8 or V10 engines and horrendous fuel economy and I really would love to see that stop.

Staying on topic though, K.I.T.T. was always the car of the future and should be all electric at this point. That goes for replicas too. :-)

Only $4/Gallon? Meh, here in UK it's £1.20/Litre, which is about £4.45/Gallon. That translates to about $7.50/Gallon at current exchange rates. Main reason it's higher here is because in the 1990s, the Tories pushed up the duty on Petrol and Diesel to negate raising other taxes, and look a little greener.

The end result? Car manufacturers made their cars do more Miles Per Gallon, wiping out those gains.

That's why 3 and 4 cylinder dominate the UK market, with a few V6s and only a handful of V8 plus. With Diesel engines working their way up the market share.

NB: Ignore the Prius, the BMW 5 Series, with it's extensive use of recycled materials is far greener than the Prius, whose components effectively fly around the world before reaching the showroom. Just a point for you to know.

It seems like it's the perfect fit for a replica you plan to drive every day. I wonder if the "every day" working man can afford it though. I think that's part of the reason it hasn't caught on yet, is the initial cost.

Here in Uruguay the cheapest gas costs about $1.75 a liter... That's $6,61 a gallon... Cars aren't cheap either... So we are far worse than you in regards to that... However I'm not denying you'll save some good ole' bucks going electric... Good luck!

There are other factors to consider when it comes to fuel prices, you can't go by a simple exchange rate from one country to another. There's also a lot more in play than simple inflation.
The new and again improved evil's advertisement is currently too long and too badass to display here. But let's just say that with now 50% more evil, this **** is great! :skar:
