A lot of these are already out!! I just got the 1963 Mustang Concept last night and the 1972 Gran Torino last week. I hope the Hot Wheels version of KITT is as good as the Japanese Charra Wheels version.

It’s the same wheels they used for the last 3 (Stainless steel, gold & black) Delorean’s as well as some other models. For their main lines, Mattel (Along with all other such manufacturers) usually uses shared and standard wheels that are easier to produce in terms of the lower-end, mass production Hot Wheels cars.

HOWEVER, Mattel has been known to release some sweet and HIGHLY detailed Hot Wheels as exclusives (i.e. Comic Con’s). They’ve done it with the Ecto-1 and 1966 Batmobile. They are STUNNING!!!! (Compare below)

I am a collector of die-casts. In terms of the lower-end, standard, mass-produced KITT, I HIGHLY doubt that the wheels will be accurate. Likely, they’ll be an existing wheel cast that is painted black and MAYBE have a silver trim around the circumference of the rim. However, I strongly believe that Hot Wheels will be releasing an exclusive and detailed Delorean AND KITT as “Comic-con type” exclusives just like they did with the Ecto-1 and 1966 Batmobile. Unfortunately, the only way for the rest of us to get these is an eBay type route. I skipped on the Ecto-1 and 1966 Batmobile, but will absolutely grab KITT & the Delorean when available!

It would be an easy feat!!! Take for example the 3 DeLoreans released this year. It wasn’t just the finish that was different, but also the interior and window colour. A KARR version is VERY plausible.

Mattel never announces their release dates, only years unfortunately. We just all need to keep our eyes out and inform everyone else when we see them :)

Either way, I believe the cars should be hitting stores pretty much now or in the very near future, by this time next year I guarantee we would all have KI2t :)

Very true. We’ll likely see a photo of the die-cast soon prior to seeing them in stores. I’ll keep an eye on my sources and post as soon as I have a photo.

It would be so cool if they made KITT with a working scanner!

they would probably charge more then. Hot Wheels cars are like a dollar. If they made him with a working scanner, they'd charge maybe 5. And anyway, he'd be too heavy and too big. That would be cool though. I agree.

I just hope they do him like the Chara Wheels version and give him the bowling ball hubcaps, and not the standard Hot Wheels rim design.

I can just about guarantee that won't happen. The limited edition KITT (which may happen) would.

Oh well, I'll still get one. I have 2 of the Chara Wheels KITT's. One still in the package and the one I took out to play with. Yes, I'm 35 years old, and I still love Hotwheels. I had all the KR toys when I was a kid. The ERTL KITT w/turbo boost launcher and Comptron Truck, the KR Key Car, and several others that I can't remember who made them, and the Chara Wheels is actually a spitting image replica.

That’s a sweet set! I have 2 Charawheels KITT’s and 2 KARR’s. One of each was open and set in small display cases (Along with my 3 Charawheels DeLoreans). I also have the 1:64 Turbo Booster Launcher sets, 1:64 key cars, 1:18 Ertl KARR and 3 of the 4 1:18 KITT’s (All have different fog lights).
