Hi everyone.

As some of you may know, Steven lives in Pensacola Florida, a place that was hit very hard by Hurricane Ivan. He hasn’t been online anywhere in this community since Wednesday the 15th September and myself, Matthew , CK of Knight Rider Uk are starting to worry about his safety. I received a PM from him on the 13th stating that he might wind up losing power due to the storm, which seems to indicate that he and his family were going to stay in Pensacola. I’m hopeful that he and his family are fine, and that they evacuated the area as they were no doubt advised to do so, but if any of you spot him anywhere in the community, could you please let us know to set our minds at ease.

Thanks

Nick

All reports that I have heard about the aftermath say that the area was hit pretty hard, and may not have power restored to all areas for a number of weeks. Unfortunately that may mean that there is nothing that can be done but wait right now. Our thoughts go out to him and his family.

I hope Steven is ok too. I know another guy in Florida (who's building a KARR from a Pontiac 6000) and I haven't heard from him since the last hurricane came though. I am not sure where he is either. I forgot Steven's AOL IM but I don't think it'd do much good if there's no power.

I just hope he's ok... and anyone else from this community that lives in that area.

I was actually talking to him about a month ago. I used to live in Ft. Walton Beach which is about a half hour east of Pensacola. A few of my old buddies down there got tore up pretty bad.

Hope everything is alright man.

Hi guys.My house does have damage and are cars too. This was the most scared i've ever been in my life.We lost a lot of shengals off are roof of my house those are the tiles that hold the house firmily. And yes we still don't have power as of yet but we have a generator that is helping me be online with you guys tonight. My cousin house got hit bad 1 tree broke her window and 1 big tree fell on the back of my house to,and 1 pine tree cut in half beside our yard.Let me tell you if ever a hurrciane as big as ivan was, with what i went through please leave your home,it was a nightmare some spots on the roof of my house has leakes in my mother and father's bed room, and a big tree came right at me in my bed room but it hit the outside wall though. And by hopefully i might get power back on by maybe tonight maybe. So it's been a leaving nightmare for me it was nasty. But i'm fine and trying to get more gas for our cars and generator's because my dad had to go 30 miles east of us to get gas.And about 300 miles west the gas stations are just lined up with cars. But i'm hoping to be online more until my generator runs out of gas hehe. And one more thing if i took pictures of what happen you eyes would have saw something you never thought you would see.

86chvs10, sorry about all the damage, but I'm glad you and your family are alright. I hope it doesn't take too long for you to get back on your feet.

I have spent a lot of time Ft. Walton Beach and have a lot of people there I'm still friends with. It was scary to see the pictures of 98 on the news.

Glad to know you're alright man. The most important thing obviously is that you guys weren't hurt or worse. My aunt, uncle & cousins live in Port St. Lucie and had some damage to their house as well but fortunately they were ok too. Good luck with everything and hopefully everything turns out alright.

Funny, I have a house there. They got hit pretty hard by Frances.

Yep, from what they've told me the damage was relatively minor, at least compared to how bad it could have been but they didn't have power for 5 days and were thinking about flying up here to NY until things got restored.

Steven, glad you're ok and survived Ivan! I wouldn't be surprised that would be quite scary for sure. The most scared I ever got was during a Microburst thunderstorm (well, both of them in my lifetime). THOSE are frightful. I never lived through a hurricane but we had strong 80 mph winds one time that blew our shed in the back yard down completely, the roof literally flew through the air! The garage and house walls were swaying in and out... very frighting as we didn't know if we were going to get everything blown in. (I'm in NY State, too). Luckily we don't get many strong winds.

Good luck with everything and conserve power. :) Keep us updated though when you can.

It ain't over yet! I live just outside of Kissimee and Orlando, and went through Charley, Frances, and tommorrow Jeanne. Is this our punishment for good old "Chad" in the 2000 election? Figures, i move to Florida, and this is what i get...

P.S. Good to here from you Steve!
