How did the kid know where to find michael and how did he get up on top of the rock?

when the sheriff threatened michael with arrest when michael broke up the fight between the kids, michael said: "i guess i better go rock climbing...."

the sheriff said that white rock was the biggest mountain in the town or that to some effect.

basically, he knew from that conversation.

I hate that "It takes two to make an argument" Sheriff. Alright already, you said it 100 times, we got it. Stop giving Michael a hard time and go after the..er.. actual criminals, call back up, do something!

The other side of the mountain probably has a built in stairway of sorts for people who hate rock climbing but would like to reach the summit rather easily :P

lo most likely. :D

Hey does anyone else it strange that one of the bikers chasing them in GDAWR decided to follow kitt over the lake about ten seconds afterwards. I guess he forgot to hit the turbo boost button.

Either that or he was still drunk from their party the night before... Remember they were all partying pretty hard... :)

Another thing I noticed.... the set they used for White Rock..... that was the one they used a few years later to for Hill Valley in Back to the Future, wasn't it?

I so hate the sheriff in this episode. I just want to strangle his little lights out. Anyways.....

This is my favorite scene of the episode:

Kitt: "Now what am I supposed to do?"
Michael: "You're on vacation. Get some sun!"
*Kitt opens the t-top*

KnightCrusader99: yes it was.

As for the mystery driver in the above pic, my only guess is that it was Jack Gill but then that's only what I am assuming.

I thought the set of Hill Valley in the Back To the Future movies was built on the back lot at Universal?

exactly.

remember, BTTF and KR were both endorsed by Universal.

It's all coming back to me now, I remember noticing that when I first watched the episode on syndication; some buildings looked familiar from the movie Back To the Future. I know both the movie and Knight Rider were properties of Universal, but I was always under the impression that the producers of Back To the Future built that set on the lot from scratch themselves specifically for the movie.

Obviously so, that wasn't the case being that the set already existed for Knight Rider in 1982. I've wondered though, if maybe Back To the Future's pre-production coincided with the filming of that particular Knight Rider episode, as movies are usually in production a few years before they premier. However, in Back To the Future they do constantly mention that the year is 1985. And usually in movies, producers make the present as the actual present year at the time of filming unless of course they write it a few years ahead for storyline purposes.

I own the Back To the Future trilogy on DVD and have watched the behind-the-scenes and the commentaries, but I don't remember the exact details. I think what the case was was that they used the existing set and polished it up for filiming the 1955 footage, then later trashed it to give it a dirtier look for 1985 footage.
