What does KITT do to Bonnie??

Post by FuzzieDice » Sat Sep 04, 2004 11:42 pm

In the start of Give Me Liberty or Give Me Death Michael had joked with KITT about not taking advantage of Bonnie while she worked on the car all night. Then Bonnie tells KITT she hoped he isn't picking up Michael's "warped" sense of humor. Then KITT does something to Bonnie which makes her say "KITT! Try harder!" What exactly is it that KITT did? I rewatched that part several times and still can't exactly figure it out. Looked like he may have shocked her hand but why would he do that? I'm not sure exactly what happened... Anyone know or have an idea what it was?

GOOD QUESTION! That has been bugging me ever since i first saw the episode. Did he shock her? I just don't know! *sobs*
Michael: "KITT! Where are ya?!"
K.I.T.T.: "I'm in your parking space, Michael, where else would I be?"

Yeah, I wondered about it when I saw that too.

From the script of "Give Me Liberty... Or Give Me Death" (available for download at the Archive):
BONNIE
Kitt, I hope you're not picking up
his warped sense of humor.

K.I.T.T.
I'm trying my best not to.

Bonnie sits in the driver's seat.

BONNIE
Good.

Suddenly she jumps a little like she's been pinched on the
bottom.

BONNIE
Kitt! Try a little harder.

ANGLE - K.I.T.T.'S SCANNER

He flashes it devilishly.
Hope that helps!

I think Kitt gives Bonnie an electromagnetic shock to her fanny through the seat. I even thought about that while I was watching it the first time.
But Bonnie brought it on herself - by telling Kitt not to follow in Micheals footsteps - so to speak.

Paul - Thanks for the info. :) I was going to go to your site but I remembered it was down and you were reconstructing it. Didn't know if you had the script archives back up yet. Thank you! :)

K.I.T.T. can be so michievous.

still confused, the script still doesnt' explain what kitt did to make her jump like that...the script says she jumps "like she was pinched on the bottom".

I think thats the whole point of the schene, it was left to be implied and left to the imagination of the viewer.

Just watched the episode, and I agree that the scene is meant to be left to the imagination for a more funnier effect. But for the people that need a logical explanation, Bonnie was touching K.I.T.T.'s dashboard at the time, so it's safe to say he gave her a mild shock. A shock similar to the one K.A.R.R. gave Bonnie when she tried to sabotage him in "Trust Doesn't Rust" as well as being similar to the Electronic Anti-Theft System that protected K.I.T.T.'s CPU from theft in "Killer K.I.T.T."
“Gimme maximum turbo thrust and blast me outta here, will ya!?”

I agree to that, and the way she jumped and brought her hands back, it had to be some sort of shock to her hands.

I think it was just in the script i don't think kitt did anything to sweet Bonnie. It was probably just a drama sense.

No matter what - the scene is extremly funny. Espescially when Kitts scanner goes a bit faster. That just craks me up.

I also found K.I.T.T.'s scanner hilarious when he was going "cross-eyed" Soul Survivor style when that bikini-clad girl was cooing over him in The Topaz Connection.

I I always wondered why KITT's scanner did that in Soul Survivor. It doesn't do that any of the other frequent times he's reprogrammed. I never noticed that in Topaz Connection though, i'll have to take a look.

well i read, somewhere a while ago, that what K.I.T.T. did was play that little music bit...which made Bonnie react like she did...

I am pretty sure his scanner was like that because the control unit the kid made to control the car wasn't perfect, so there was a few problems with the Knight 2000.

There are a few times where the scanner didn't work right in normal situations. There is one ep in the first season where is scanner only went one way for a few seconds, there was no bounce back and forth.
