Another one. After the security alarm at the FLAG mansion sounds and michael jumps on KARR. Right before kitt pulls up to Devon while kitt is moving they switch to stock footage of kitt shifting into drive LOL even though he was already moving.
THIS IS WHY I LOVE KNIGHT RIDER

With a normal internal combustion engine thats true, However with KITT, He uses a different type of engine, so maybe he can start in Drive

Well...that laser is no wimp, I'm willing to believe it could at least scorch a bit of KARR's outer layer
Michael: "KITT! Where are ya?!"
K.I.T.T.: "I'm in your parking space, Michael, where else would I be?"

Probably he doesn't have a Neutral Safety switch installed. Plus in TDR does anyone notice that when Kitt tries to resume control from Michael, KITT takes over then Michael says"Oh no you don't" then you here two beeps from the normal cruise button. Then they show Michael's hand hit the button.

That scene of KARR jumping the cliff is from the movie "The Car" it is also reused in the episode "Forget Me Not" when kit jumps off the cliff to save Michael.

Or how bout this one... maybe you have seen it - i dont know. But right before KARR crashes into the corner store, you can see michael driving KITT with the stars on the car from "Slammin Sammys". I mean really, did they think we wouldnt notice?" hehe.

i always assumed that michael was deactivating kitt's system somewhat... like pressing a few buttons on the console (like devon did in the pilot after michael went through the garage and devon says "you have to switch it on") and then hitting the normal cruise button...
