It was originally intended to be released in America, but for some beknownst reason Sony blocked the distribution. It has been suggested that there was a wrangle over contracts, but no-one really knows.
Perhaps the release of the sequel may coax Sony into releasing a double pack on PS2 for America.
Your only other option apart from the PC version, is to purchase a UK version PS2 and game, and all the necessary cables. E.g. power convertors, PAL compatible TV and leads...
But that might be a tad expensive.

nope . dont think it was released .
One thing I did was bought the ps2 game (got ps2 and PC one!)
Copyed all the files on the computer and patched it with a NTSC file.
So now I can play it . but you need a mod chip or swaper for it to work .
like gameshark, Actionreplay , or best for imports use "swapmagic"

And, from what I gather, a fairly short game that lacks in the replay department.Skav wrote:For one game...yeah, just a bit.

Doesn't sound like it's worth the price to me.
Also, from what I have gathered, that BattleStar Galactica PS2 game sounds rather disappointing. Sounds like more of the same stuff that I've been playing since way back in the mid-80's with SkyFox II.
