Hey All,

Some of you may recall that thanks to NavTones we were given the opportunity to as fans, ask William Daniels some questions. So sorry that it has taken this long, but we're finally ready to share the efforts of that 40 minute session with you!

http://knightrideronline.com/navtones/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Thanks to everyone that participated and specially NavTones for supporting the fans in this way. Their new and improved KITT voice will be available for Garmin and TomTom on March 16th!

Have a listen and lets discuss. Congrats to all that received answers!

Thanks!

I just finished listening to it, and let me be the first to comment. My hat is off to everyone that made this happen. This was almost like having William Daniels at a convention event. I'm glad we all finally got to have some of our questions answered. He had a lot more to say than I thought he ever would and I thought he was very gracious to take the time to indulge the fans.

Awesome Interview. I was so happy my question made the list! (Aaron Goldstein I am). Though It is unfortunate that Mr. Daniels has never seen the new Knight Rider or heard Val Kilmer as the voice of KITT.

He answered mine, too! (Sarah, UK). I didn't expect he would remember each individual episode, but at least he thinks he could have reverted to a New York accent, which is what I wondered

I think William Daniels is wonderful, and a very generous man. Whenever the interviewer said 'just another few questions', I was feeling tired for the poor man, but he kept going! Also, he sounds wonderful, really like the human version of Kitt - eloquent, witty, intelligent and friendly. Thank you for talking about the show, Mr Daniels!

I'm so upset that I can't view it on my work computer. I will reserve my comment until I see it tonight. Hats off to Mr. Daniels and KRO for this though!

Loll. his wifes name is Bonnie. :D

They should of got clips of the new knight rider and the original so Willian Daniels could have answered the question about the New york cabbie and the two on the new series. Good interview though, why didn't they film it?

(I'm guessing he did do the NY cabbie accent because they got him to speak chinese even though he found that hard)

I am so honored to know that he replied to my question! It's very interesting because he isn't a "tech guy" and he doesn't remember the episodes mentioned in the interview. That alone makes you realize how down-to-earth he really is. For instance he didn't know if it was himself or somebody else that did the "New York" accent on "Out of the Woods". Nevertheless, thank you so much for your time Mr Daniels!

This made my day! I really got a kick out of not only having my question picked, but Mr. Daniels even joked that he used to live in my town (Chris, Valley Stream)!

I cracked up when he mentioned his wife's name is Bonnie. How ironic! I also think it's hilarious how his two sons use the Knight Rider G.P.S.' he had and basically have their own father directing them where to go.

One answer of interest was regarding his lack of credit for the part of K.I.T.T. in which he says he didn't want to be confused with his part on St. Elsewhere. In other interviews he's said that it was because he wanted the car to have its own identity. I'm sure it's a combination of both.

Many thanks to the moderators here at K.R.O., the staff at Navtones, and most of all, Mr. Daniels himself!!! Truly awesome.

It was an honor to be one of those chosen to have my question posed to William Daniels, it wasnt
my intention to hit a nerve regarding whether or not he found the voice if KITT to be demeaning.
When the director of Kickin It Old Skool said he would get Mr Daniels & later the voice that came out was not his voice made me think that perhaps at times it was something that got on his nerves.
So the bottomline is after the reaction of William Daniels to my question ,it would say to me that the director of Kickin It Old Skool lied to me when he said that he would get Daniels to do it.

It was a disappointment that even though my KITT was used in the movie- the original voice wasnt.
Oh well thats showbiz.

D. Doggett. :kitt2: :dash: :dash4:

Yeah, actress Bonnie Bartlett, to be exact. She also played Mr. Daniels' wife on St. Elsewhere and Boy Meets World. He and his wife were also the second married couple to ever win Emmy Awards on the same night. They were, however, the first married couple to win for a series.
