I ALWAYS hated that it was spelled Garthe. Looks so dumb. Then again, saying the name itself is weird too... I guess the producers wanted to find an ominous sounding name, then tossed an E onto it to make it even more unseemly.

Blame Robert Foster, it's his character. I think the "e" on the end is to make it a unique spelling that stands apart from everything else out there (like Garth Brooks) which is not uncommon with writers and their character names.

Hello There Everyone,

I always thought that Garthe Knight was an dangerous but, interesting character. I was disappointed that they stopped using him after a couple of episodes both involving that massive truck-semi called Goliath. I am curious though that in Team Knight Rider that had this evil character called Mobius that we never fully see since he is a shadowy and mysterious figure that gets around in a wheel chair yet he knows alot about The Foundation and in the final episode he manages to kid nap KITT. Any chance that this could be Garthe Knight? I know he was supposed to be killed off in the original series episode Goliath Returns when the semi goes off the cliff and into the ocean. But, supposed he survived that crash into the ocean and has severe injuries to keep wheel chair bound. I say it is possible. Even though that David H. never appeared in that series his character Michael Knight was mentioned from time to time and the Michael Knight character was shown from behind in the final episode and Mobius we never full saw so, who knows.
