My_Friend_KITT, what you have to remember is that Ford may well have wanted their cars on show but they weren't the ones behind how that happened, so you can't blame them.

And GST did not want to reboot. Stubborn he is, and it was NBC that forced the changes through that made the show that much better.

Just when I think I moving past the angry stage, I go back and look again at the wasteland that is NBC's fall schedule and get ticked all over again! Okay, when KR first started , NBC was running repeats on Saturday nights. I figured, okay whatever. But they are doing it again. Now they're rebroadcasting Law & Order SVU (again - isn't that on like fourteen other cable channels seven hundred time a week already????) and either Southland (loser) and Trauma (recycled hack soon to be loser). If you're going to use the sorry excuse that Leno is taking up five hours of your weekly prime time so some shows have to go, wouldn't you think you'd salvage a bubble show or two to fill in the dead air you are broadcasting on Saturday nights? I know it would be a suck time slot, but I for one would have been thrilled if KR would have at least gotten that. Maybe they could have filled in another hour with My Name is Earl and (god help us) even Kath & Kim or better yet Life and you might actually have more than twelve people tune into your network on the weekend. Grumble, grumble, grumble........

Thank You Knightendo77,

I don't see the point to blame them either.
They had no control over the failing economy, either.
Do I blame Ford for my loss? No
It's just that it is a bad time to produce a show like KR...I guess...It's hard for me to believe that...but it's true I guess.

What? You think he should stop blaiming GST? I understand the fact that Ford had nothing to do with the fall out and how it was advertised and so fourth but surely we can blame GST for quite a lot!

In my opinion we should be soft on NBC with regards to how things were going. According to knightendo77 GST didn't want a reboot in the first place! That alone is stupid not to follow through! The show was desperate for some rebooting or retooling, whatever you want to call it and whether or not it was a bad time slot or not being advertised the way it should comes off second hand. If the show is great people will watch it, if not they won't...

It appears easy to point the finger at GST for ruining our beloved KR or NBC for not doing their job properly but we shouldn't forget some the fans are equally to blame, not that I want to get into a discussion about it or point fingers but lets not forget that often some of the KR fans were harder on it than the critics.

Okay, I am lost for a second so will someone help clear this up for me?

Is Knight Rider canceled for good or just temporarily?

I have been running around in circles trying to figure out what the truth is and I would like a straight answer. So if anyone could tell me, please do.

Hopefully this will help in clarifying your concerns, Knight Rider isn't on NBC's fall schedules so its not coming back this season but....read Matthews post viewtopic.php?f=1046&t=14586" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Uk audiences for the series have been nothing but positive..500k for the pilot and 700k for the first episode of GST's envisioning of the series. Some maybe sceptical how much influence the uk and international fanbase could have on KR's future but I look on this as a very positive sign that KR wont just be brushed under the rug, international audiences have been known to save shows before. Echoing whats already been said, the fat lady hasn't sung her final chord nor bust out into a rap so there is still time to get our voices heard and make a difference.

In light of this news shouldn't the "Watch Gary Scott Thompson, Knight Rider IS NOT CANCELED" be removed from the news section of this site now?

Or is it deliberately being left there to kick GST?

I hope that we will get a second series, as I think it should at lease get a second series. In the UK we have only had the first 2 episodes and I like it already, but it is on the Sci Fi channel which in the UK isn't the first channel you think of for this kind of show, but it's on the same night as Smallville which is on another Channel E4, thankfully it on at 8 pm, 1 hour before Smallville and that could be a good thing as Smallville in the UK is quite popular.

American Show have been saved many times in the past in the UK and Europe, I remember that Baywatch was almost cancelled, but when it came on ITV a major channel in the UK it was a rating winner and ITV paid the people who make Baywatch to continue with it and that is when it was rename New Baywatch when we got Pamela Anderson in the series. I remember that the original Knight Rider series success really came once it came to the UK and Europe so any chance it will happen again with the new Knight Rider. If they want to give the new Knight Rider a chance in the UK and Europe then they should re-cast the Hoff as he is a God to many in Europe especially in Germany.

Uhh Baywatch wasn't almost canceled, NBC DID cancel it, it survived in first run syndication thanks largely to Hasselhoff and of course how popular it was outside the US. I still don't know if that was a mistake on NBC's part though I'm sure they still regret selling the rights to Hasselhoff who ended up making a fortune on the show.

To be honest, if Hasselhoff did have some sort of involvement and creative control over the series, it probably would have been much better off though I still would prefer to not have seen him in every or even every other episode.

maybe the Hoff and some other mogul should get together and buy the shows rights, and continue it,
cast himself in it, and let it continue.

The audience is there, especially internationally.
Once the series has been aired around the world, they will be clamouring for more.

But unfortunately, NBC are real dicks, they are happy to cancel yet not give someone else the chance to run it.

Pathetic!

Hey Guys

You can do what you want, when big bosses says no, we dont want this series anymore, you can start campiangs all over again, you can never bring it. The movie RAD has millions of sign ins fpr petion and nobody is interestet in to bring it on DVD. The fans wait and wait and sign pertitions. The problem today is that everything is about money and the Knight Rider series brings not enough money to NBC so good bye forever. The reason why David Hasselhoff is not talk about Knight Rider 2008/2009 is because he likes the series completly not, he was okay with the pilot. I say Yes to a campaing but when the fans sign for Season 2 I want a complete change of all stuff and a new beginning. It has to be new, yes but 50 % of the old serie must and underline this MUST be in the new one. But we can do what we want, NBC loose money with the series, so does ford and thats what is all about, money. I miss the 80s, in times like today televison sucks...

i shall boycott NBC and any of their future productions from now on... well except for Chuck, this show is just too good... it's a miracle NBC hasn't axed it yet. but i'm afraid they will after the 13 episode order for a season 3. Then NBC is dead to me!
