Filming location: The Bridge

Michael finds (and loses) "the package" under a bridge. That bridge is in Pasadena, CA near the Rose Bowl.

If you look closely at the green sign in the background, it says "U.S. Naval Observatory". The actual sign is for the Rose Bowl Aquatic Center, so the fx guys were at it again. (Don't think we don't notice these things guys!)

And I don't know if they added some digital trees or did a lot of color-correcting, but the place sure looks a lot more lush on TV than it does in person

When I went to the bridge, there was an older Mustang parked nearby.

You can explore the area on your own with Google Maps:

What I loved was how the D.C. metro looked absolutely nothing like the real thing. As a D.C. metro resident, I was personally laughing my ass off when I saw the metro on TV. I know the production team couldn't afford to travel to D.C. to shoot any actual footage but I was a bit surprised how different they let the actual metro station on TV look versus the real thing. I wonder if that trend of apparent reality discontinuity will continue in future episodes when scenes call for being in a different city/location? Thing back on TOS, the crew usually did their best to shoot in different locales when called for or at least they would use stock footage to try and make it look convincing. Curious to know what everyone else's thoughts are on these scenes?

I got one!!!

BTW, so glad that I happened to find this site tonight, as I am a diehard fan of the original series!! Anyway, saw the premiere episode tonight and almost instantly was able to recognize one of the shooting locations! The scene actually Knight Industries HQ is located right down the road from me here in Irvine, CA. It is the Tustin MCAS Hangar off of Jamboree Rd near The District shopping center.

I believe the bottom hangar is the one they use. It is much closer to the street so it'd be easier to access.

The one exception might be the long distance shot they used in "Knight to King's Pawn" (when Billy, Zoe, and Mike were trying to break back into the abandoned SSC through a secret entrance). To get such a vast space of field, they'd have to have used the top hangar. The bottom hangar is surrounded on 2 1/2 sides by commercial and industrial zones. The top hangar, if viewed from the Northwest, has a 3/4 mile span of field before you'd see a road.

I mentioned this a few months ago about the hangars being in Tustin/Irvine, CA. If you scrolled down on the Google Map, you'd see The District Shopping Center.

So remember: every time you see Michael and KITT dashing out of the SSC, they're driving towards Costco. :D
