It's the battle of the century.
It's KARR vs the Borg.

Who do you think will win and why?

Pretty short fight, the Borg transport KARR into space the hard radiation fries his circuits and his shell is destroyed on re-entry or by falling into the sun.

I didn't know Ernest Borgnine was that strong.

A single 'car' against a race of cybernetic, technology assimilating creatures? OOOh let me think lol..

Simply put... The Borg. They will assimilate KARR into the collective.

Resistance is Futile.

Okay,
Here's my take on it.

I know that KARR would give them one heck of a battle because of his Self-preservation program. He wouldn't want to be assimilated.

I don't think that the Borg would be able to beam KARR into space because KARR could send an EMP surge while being transported and totally destroy and or fry the Borg's transporter device...Go KARR!

And even though the Borg has an advantage because of their numbers...
They would probably have their hands full trying to assimilate the planet at the same time. So KARR would probably not have too many to fight off at any given point in time.

Here's another point...
If it is the current KARR from the '08 series, would he use a nano-skin too?
This could prevent any damage the Borg may try to inflict on KARR....Hmmmm

So I am currently siding with KARR. *giggle*

Just to play devils advocate to your idea My_Friend_KITT,

1) KARRs EMP does destory the transporter, the Borg then repair it in a matter of momments building in EMP shielding as they go then transport KARR off planet etc etc

2) New KARRs nanoskin repairs the damage from the Borg weapons, the Borg adapt and the next volley of shots include a weapon that destorys the nanoskin first.

As with most of these discussions the winner would depend on which side the writer came from.

Hi rwmu,

Yeah, I guess it would have a lot to do with the writers. :)

I still think that KARR would give the Borg one heck of a fight.
Yeah, they could rebuild their technology after the emp...but that moment in time could give KARR a distinct advantage. :)
By that time he could be deep within their software and downloading any programs of use...he could probably even find a way to meld with the hive mind without being truly assimilated. :)

I find this topic fun...your turn...How do you see it?

You know the idea of KARR doing a sneaky upload did occur to me.

However I can see the EMP/Micro Jam affecting the Transporter at the point of Transport but I can't see it affecting the Cube generating the Tranasporter Beam, a Space Ship by definion would have shielding against that sort thing so it can function in the raditation soaked areas of outerspace. Yes KARR could escape the inital Transport attempt but unlikely to get a second attempt.

If KARR did try an upload himself I think he might be able to meld with one Cube but then the rest of the collective would seprate. Similar to what happened in I Borg and Descent Parts 1 & 2

Hi Rwmu,

Here ya go. :)

Yeah, the radiation and such would be blocked but only by the deflector shields on the outside of the cube. You wouldn't expect the inside of the ship to be bombared by such problems or would you?

As per the upload, I agree...He could only be at one cube at one time...but he could "hear" the whole hive from that vantage point. :) Goooo KARR!

Okay...your turn. :)

Evening My_Friend_KITT

I would expect the circuits to be hardened since the deflector shields are not on all the time, the pulse crearted by Warp Drive would affect the entire ship EMP doesn't affect organics at all, if fact it wouldn't affect the Borg circuitry at all since it seemed to be mostly organic in constuction not electronic/electical.

KARR could jump into a Cube but you only get to try each trick once then the Borg adapt the rest of the collective would just destroy the KARR infected Cube.

Hi rwmu,

Is it my turn again? :)

I agree that KARR could in theory only be able to be inside one Borg cube computer at any one given point in time...but would he need to be inside any other anyway?

The hive mind is connected to all the cubes all at once...
all he needs is access to one and he knows it all.

Ha!
*giggle*

Your turn. :)

Hi My_Friend_Kitt

I think the hive mind is the very think that would now defeat the now bodyless KARR it would grab his very inferior program and shove it in the Borg equivelent of a recyle bin, followed by a quick bleaching just to make sure.
