Knight Rider might have been cancelled: two sources

Post by Luis » Thu Mar 05, 2009 1:42 pm

It makes me REALLY sad, but these seem credible:

TV Guide
http://www.tvguide.com/News/Heroes-Knig ... eakingnews" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Spoiler TV
http://spoilertv.blogspot.com/2009/03/k ... elled.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

It's a day of reckoning for Knight Rider fans :(

Well I don't think that's two sources: it sounds like spoilerTV is simply repeating what they saw on tvguide.com. And even then, when an article says "sources tell us", that's not yet confirmation.

"An NBC rep had no comment on KITT's rumored garaging."

Fall slate will be officially released in 3 weeks. Until then nothing is confirmed. But I wouldn't hold my breath.

I hope you're right. I was happy about yesterday's ratings, then I read this.

Even tho if KR gets cancelled not going to cry about it, just i know i had some fun during the 17 weeks of the show.

really what is going to be on after Chopping Block dies? Unless they do Chopping Block 2.

We should see what kind of ratings they get next week against American Idol.

Don't get me wrong. I think its canceled. I thought it was canceled way back when the episode order was cut. Its just that no official word has come out which I suspect is b/c NBC doesn't want fans to react and bombard their offices with petitions. By the time the fall slate is announced everything is cemented and nothing can be done. It is shady of NBC to act this way, but what do you expect from a corporation.

fans already reacted and bombarded their offices with letters and petitions. you fail at logic.

Don't get mad at me b/c of KR's imminent doom. You have some people clinging onto hope b/c nothing has been announced while others began a save the show campaign. There's no cause to rally around since KR isn't canceled. Keeping people in the dark prevents them from organizing a massive counteroffensive. Divide and Conquer.

Humm well I don't see KR mentioned at all in the article that TV guide has cited as their source.

Looks like they are making a guess. I wish THR thought to ask Angela Bromstad about KR. Unless they did and she wouldn't give an answer.

I also think this is not final. nothing is solid. just thoughts and expectations. As one of my freinds said before "we will find out in April" :kitt:

I believe it's not going against AI next week. TBH, if KR does get canned (which lets face it, is more likely than it getting picked up) NBC really has themselves to blame.

i wasn't getting mad, i was merely pointing out errors in your post. people have already organized, i don't know why you don't get it.

In that case, thanks for your prodigiousness. All this time I thought my posts were largely going unread by people. Good to know someone is reading them with such detail, concentration, and focus.

If you cancel Knight Rider 2008 then we are very sad...but in my opinion I think it will not cancel it, it will continue and we must always support the television series Knight Rider!

The final episode was good, lets just hope it's getting picked up for a full season 2 atleast.

The show is getting really good those last 10 episodes. More KR to the people!

I think Sue is right (in another thread). This could be some kind of "disinformation campaign" from websites that hate KR. The way Spoiler TV described it, I was expecting an official press release from NBC by 11 a.m. Nothing there yet, of course.

I'm trying to hold on to my hope -- season 2 would be AMAZING.

IF KR08 is cancelled, and that is a big "IF", it's partially because of those who crapped all over it, wanting it
cancelled. Some said it's cuz it's not the original, that ONLY the ORIGINAL will do. Some because they hate
KR anyway. Either way, they wanted to take it away from those of us who do like it and wanna see it stay.
I personally hope it's just the end of the season, not the series. Those of you who keep hating on it, don't
watch. Change the channel a'ready.

I don't think so. I still watched every week anyway despite my misgivings about the show. People like me actually helped the ratings b/c we tuned in. I'm just not going out of my way to save this show. If its renewed I'll still watch, if its not I won't miss it. If you want to blame anyone blame NBC for 1) Not finding the right creative direction, 2) Not advertising it enough, 3) Letting a business deal with Ford supersede story quality.

I don't want to see anything Knight Rider related fail, but I find it very unlikely TV Guide would post something like that if their sources weren't credible.

Knight94 - Mr. Marcus is absolutely right with who is at fault if the show is in fact canceled. Many of us tuned in or watched online, despite some misgivings.

I'd add that I thought KR08 had a great cast including Val Kilmer as KITT. :good:

I'm going to take my information on KR's renew/cancellation with a grain of salt until I hear news coming directly from NBC. For all we know, it's probably got the same credibility of some New Zealand newspaper claiming Zach Levi said that KR is canceled.

If NBC does cancel KR, they've just lost a whole family of viewers because we only watch NBC for Knight Rider. It's the KR fandom against the world I guess...
Congratulations!By reading this signature,KITT's AWESOMENESS has increased by ONE POINT!
So far KITT's power level is OVER 9,000!!!!

Make that two families. My wife and kids love this show as much as I do, and there isn't SQUAT on the entire rest of NBC's schedule I would give up even 5 minutes of my life to watching. Here's hoping, but my heart gets heavier by the minute. :(
