Hmm...I remember talking to him and him saying it was like the 3rd car, he could have been saying that for the camera to embellish a bit. I don't believe that car was a Hero car either. Terry one of the stunt drivers at the time mentioned how he recognized that car specifically because he had ordered certain things modified on it so he could do certain stunts, like the line locks. I believe it was one of the cars that was complete on the inside and out, but not to the level of finish as the Hero car.

From memory, that Saugus car had a title registered in 1984.

It may have been registered in 84, the VIN is for an 82.

GM is stuck with very big financial problem. Ford is in a better situation. The pontiac was very good option at the time, but at the current time, Ford is not bad Image :kitt:

That is possible, it is not uncommon to have "brand new" 10 year old car that has an MRO (pre-title if you will) but due to what ever circumstance was never titled until much later, you can see these kinds of cars show up frequently at auto auctions like Mecum or Barett-Jackson.

There could be lots of reasons why they didn't do it for the new Knight Rider.

But as for not calling KI2T a Trans Am, that's easy, GM are freaking morons. You can try and justify it all you want, who cares if people are asking for a KITT T/A, it's still unbelievable advertising. There is absolutely no logical reasoning behind it. GM were every bit as dumb back then as they are now. (Or here's a thought, MAKE a KR edition trans AM. It doesn't have to be loaded with lights, just an all black edition. You'd still sell a bunch.)

Ugh, makes me angry to this day.

I agree with 1982, I think that it's not very dificult to find out if the first Knight Rider cars were the first 3 gen firebirds ever produced. The Sagus car VIN number goes like this 52***7 but I have see a lot o firebirds with a lower VIN number so it's very clear to me that the Knight Rider cars were not the first cars GM produced for that year.

GM is in a bad crisis. I don't see the Shelby as a bad choice.

they have just asked for more loan money from the goverment. but Ford didnt. they said they cam manage for the tiem being. This clearly shows that Ford is in much better position than the other two american factories. and I still agree with Harry, the Mustang is not a bad choice at all. Image :kitt:
