That is excellent. To be able to have the bonnet opening is what I had in my head, but with fibre optics it didn't work out that way unfortunatly, but I did still end up with a briliant result, but not as bright as using LEDs like you have.

I'm starting work on version 2.

Awesome!

You sold your first version through eBay right? Saw the video of it at YouTube. The scanner looks really good. Whoever has it is really lucky.. Maybe I will try to bid on it if you decide sell off version 2 as well.... :D

A guy in the US won it and also won the Attack model KITT that someone else sold so he has the full collection now

Your work on that is amazing, hope you don't mind me adapting your ideas with mine.
Don't forget to sand out the dash centre vents and you can use a LED to recreate the globe.
Use paint restorer to carefully remove the SHELBY as it cuts through the paint gently so will remove the lettering before it wears through the black paint.

that's not just optimized... it looks perfect! :good:
can we expect a step-by-step guide how you built it and what components you used or do you want to keep that secret to yourself?

NICE!!

Just two things:
- you didn't modify the cobra logo on the side of the car. was this on purpose?
- I'd like to get more information on how to modify the circuit. any chance you can tell me where you got all the parts and what you had to do step-by-step?

1) Logos
The modification on the side wasn't easy, so I left it, as it was:

They used a glue to stick them onto the car. If I remove the logos (only by destroying them - hard to remove) there are some glue leftovers which aren't that easy to remove. And as you know or can see, I had some troubles removing the Shelby letters. :(

Maybe I'll paint the Logoparts black

2) CircBoard
If I have enough time, I'll do a step-by-step report. I don't have enough free time for working on my car because of my job and I don't want to spend all that free time for working on ki3t.

Go to http://www.blankplates.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; that should help. Or just Google it and look in Google images. Save the image on your computer and work with it there. Doesn’t it piss you off that all these guys come on this site bragging about there custom work and won’t share or help us out? That’s BS. Help the community. Thanks sorry I bitched so much.

Okay. Use floss (Zahnseide) to get behind the logos, that removes them without breaking or destroying them. Then you can remove the parts you don't need and use glue to stick the logo back at its place. Worked for me.

The report is great and fun to read. Love the fotos. And I know that customizing your 1/18 model always needs some time and ideas. But since you did all the thinking, trying and the work and it turned out so well, you could save some people all the trouble by not just giving them a report, but a guide or instruction, so they know better what to do without running into so much dead ends.

Me for example, I tried adding a scanner to my KR model. But: I couldn't get the circuit to work properly and I used the wrong LEDs, so the scanner does not have that smooth look your's does. And I have never ever programmed my own circuit, so I am kind of lost here.

For the license plate, I guess it's easy to make one yourself. But some guys don't have the talent to do it, so... well it's your choice if you want to share it or not. Since I am a fan of open source, sometimes you have to do the work for all the others

Doesn't change how great your results are. :good:

And by the way, for those who know how to use Photoshop, here is a great tutorial on how to make your own license plate. The ones from plate-sites are often of poor quality and resolution.

Just wanted to mention, that the tutorial you posted is the tutorial I used for making those plates.

and what does it help you to tell you, which mods I did on the circuit board?! This circuit board is a special board which can be bought in germany (manufactured in germany too). and i don't think, that anyone of you would buy a ciruit board (20-30€) in germany with shipping costs above 30€ (use google to calculate in USD) ...

there are X- different circuit boards which fit better than the CB I used etc. etc. and they work different too!

so don't be pissed, or bitched or whatever when I do not post everything, forget something and so on...

I'm sharing my work with you, investing a lot of free time in the report/article/news... instead of making a secret of the work, what some other people are doing!
