When should we publish the petition?!?

In the last two weeks the signature count on the petition has gotten 2783 new signatures and we now have 4010 signatures. With this amount of signatures I thought that it might be time to start a topic about when to publish the petition. I don't know what a good number would be as this is the first "Save A Series" campaign I have ever participated in. My thought is that even though we need all the signatures we can get that we can't wait to ling and KR get canceled before our petition can do any good.

I'm thinking we should wait for some more signatures.It might make a bigger impact,since 4,000-5,000 might not be enough for NBC.

Well I am not sure if this is correct but from what i've read the decision if we get a 2nd season or they are ending knight rider won't occur until after the last episode. So what if you submitted it the day of the last episode comes out this way it impacts there decision.
I completely agree the more signatures the better, but we have to consider after a certain date the petition won't matter because the decision is already made.

yes, the more signatures the better. BUT we are runing out of time. we should do it now.
we need let the people in NBC know that some people need to have KR a live. maybe this can give them an indication that they need to think about a 2nd seasoun.
Plus, by publishing it, I think we will attrackt more people to the petition.
now, we are just waiting for a number, let go live and more people will join the caravan.
any way, this is the way I see it. hope we are not late to do any thing

I believe we are facing a timeline issue. not on the petition expiring but on cancellation of the show.
The petition was started on December 04, 2008; it is now 3 months later. I think in most cases 6 months would be reasonable for a petition to be allowed to circulate.
I think we have somewhere between two weeks and two months before NBC make the call.
If we can get another 875 signatures and make the number 5000, I will print the petition with the signature and send a copy certified mail to NBC. I also scan and post the certified receipt and executed return slip.
I believe anything less than 5000 signatures would be detrimental to the cause, and would show only minimal support for the series.
I also think we should send a copy to the petition major new stations. NBC, CBS, ABC, FOX, CNN. Leave the petition up if it draws attention and we get more signature we can resubmit the petition with the added signatures.
That being said, I wrote the petition but it is not mine to do with as I please. It now belongs to everyone who signed it. I will carry out my responsibility to complete the process, based on the majority opinion.
I believe that is the only way the decision to send it, or not send it, can be made fairly.

I say send it as soon as season one ends or when the count is between 5,000 and 10,000 that is a fair amount
