seem to be delayed:
NOTE: Nielsen is doing testing for the digital transition starting Thursday, Jan. 29. As a result, Fast National ratings will be delayed until 1 p.m. ET through March. As always, we will post ratings information as soon as we have it.
That is under an hour from this posting.

from tvbythenumbers
Katie Couric: not on fire. The CBS News with Katie Couric was not a hit in prime time. While it did have more viewers from 8pm-8:30 than Knight Rider (6.45 million for Katie vs. 5.852 million for KITT), the car resoundingly thrashed Couric in the age demos. From 8p-8:30 Couric drew a 1.2/3 (rating share) among 18-49 year olds and an 0.8/2 share among 18-34 year olds. Knight Rider had a 1.8/5, and 1.4/4 in those demos for the half hour. CBS said this was a one-off, one time experiment, and I’m guessing they’ll definitely stand by that now.
The good news for LOST is that the people who watched the premiere stuck around. It averaged 11.067 million. FOX’s new Lie to Me averaged 12.113 million, but LOST had the better 18-49 demo - 4.8/11 for LOST vs. 4.4/10 for Lie to Me. Lie to Me has a little bit of Idol overrun which will be stripped out in the finals and lower its number some.
Life on Mars was back and the hoped for synergy with LOST, sadly didn’t happen. LOM dropped to 6.506 million and only had a 2.3/6 among 18-49 year olds, it’s lowest rating to date.

I really enjoyed last night’s episode, but these numbers aren’t pretty.
Please note all of the numbers above are preliminary, not time-zone adjusted and will change in the final numbers…

these are millions of viewers and not ratings - they didn't post the rating/share number strangely yet.
But this was against American Idol AND Lost - so I see this as a positive.

Here's the report from Zap2it:
Fast National ratings for Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2009
FOX cruised to another ratings win Wednesday night, while a prime-time edition of the "CBS Evening News" and "Life on Mars" both struggled in unfamiliar timeslots.
FOX scored an 11.1 rating/17 share for the night, and had more than double the amount of total viewers for second-place CBS (5.6/9). NBC took third in households with a 4.7/7, but ABC, 4.6/7, had more total viewers. The CW managed only a 0.8/1.
The adults 18-49 crown also went to FOX, which delivered a 7.2 in the demographic. ABC took second at 2.9. NBC, 2.1, edged CBS, 2.0, for third, and The CW was well off the pace at 0.4.
"American Idol" snagged a 15.0/23 for FOX at 8 p.m., up from Tuesday's show. "Knight Rider," 3.8/6, finished a distant second for NBC. A rerun of "Lost" drew a 3.7/6 for FOX. CBS came in fourth with the prime-time "CBS Evening News," 4.2/6, and an "Old Christine" rerun, 3.3/5. The CW aired a "Privileged" repeat.

GREAT. I was very impressed at last nights episode and thought it got back to the roots of KR very well and didn't focus on the minor characters as much. And best of NO attack mode!!!!
I also noticed that the ratings sites didn't put something like "Soon to depart" or "Soon to be canceled" in their reports maybe we are getting their support to because they put something like that in at least the last two weeks reports.

This is good news. The series is showing growth, which is something networks take a look at. The episode last night was the first reboot episode and for the most part we approve. The ratings were up even though NBC didn't promote the episode. Creatively and ratings wise the show is improving and that's positive. I think NBC may consider giving the show another chance if the numbers keep growing and the audience supports the series.

I'm confused because I went to tvbythenumbers.com were neps got the amount of people watching statistic and the article reads just like he said but the chart at the bottom has a different number of viewers showing 6.13 which is a good thing if we go off the chart adding about .27 million viewers.
Full night’s data:
Time Net Show Viewers (Millons) 18-49 Rating/Share 18-34 Rating/Share
8:00 FOX American Idol 26.97 10.1/25 8.8/24
CBS CBS Evening News with Katie Couric 6.45 1.2/3 0.8/2
NBC Knight Rider 6.13 1.9/5 1.5/4
ABC LOST (R) 5.28 1.8/4 1.5/4
UNI Cuidado con el Angel 4.84 1.9/5 2.1/6
CW Privileged (R) 1.07 0.4/1 0.4/1

You missed the part I quoted:
Please note all of the numbers above are preliminary, not time-zone adjusted and will change in the final numbers…
I've updated the chart. I've also verified the 6.1 number with NBC.

Also these are still the earlier numbers which will be replaced but you can see that more people turned in as the episode aired:
NBC 8:00 KNIGHT RIDER 1.8/5 5,852,000
NBC 8:30 KNIGHT RIDER 2.0/5 6,405,000

I saw it and that is still in the article so I didn't know if that was were they posted the final numbers or not. I wasn't sure.
I'm still new to the rating stuff when will the final account of the ratings be posted with everyone counted?

Sorry to get of topic but I just looked and we have gotten 250 signatures just today. That shows just how good last nights episode was to have that big of a jump in the signature count just today IMO.
