KRO mentioned on SEIBERTRON.com, "KITT Must Die!" Article

Post by weeezl » Thu Jan 15, 2009 8:50 am

Found this while getting my usual fix of TF:ROTF updates.

I expect another similar article to pop up on Transformers Blogspot soon also.

I absolutely love how quickly they go out of their way to bash the show.

It's funny really. I've asked people like that why exactly they bash it.... the answer I've gotten the most? They haven't actually seen it, they're just afraid to be associated with it. They're afraid it'll embarrass them.

Funny. If they didn't care about the show and never had anything to do with it, how, pray tell, can they be embarressed?

Really now.

I couldn't care less if others don't like it. But that, my friends, is immature and cowardly- no matter WHAT the subject matter.

It's funny how they bash a show about a talking car, yet find it natural to obsess over talking robots that transform into cars

It's just another example of pointless internet bashing with no substance whatsoever.

Fans of many scifi boards (including Transformers unfortunately) are very predisposed to bashing things non-objectively. I remember when "Beast Wars Transformers" came out over ten years ago. Good lord was there a storm over that - and most of the haters were people who had never seen the show or played with one of the toys. Close mindedness abounds sadly.

God grief those were odd days. "Prime is a truck not a monkey" arguments were abound. Ignoring the fact that Beast Wars was a very worthy succesor to the original Transformers and did more to grow the mythology than the haters will accept. Beast machine was even worse, Goldbug will probably confirm but the writers of that show were unfairly villified at any opportunity!!!!

I'm surprised they didn't comment on the fact that Cullen was KARR before he was Prime?

Oh you guys are referring to the comments, thats good cause there was'nt anything negative in the article.

Lots of TF fans forget he did Karr first (or rather would'nt like to admit it) to them he is their beloved Prime so I'd expect a few neg comments regarding Karr.

Karr aside, bashing the show in general is currently in vogue  half the people that do probably like it if truth be told but seeing as it appears to be "fashionable" I dont expect anything to change any time soon.

I got bored listening to people piss & moan about it a long time ago, I dont really get annoyed about it anymore, its part & parcel of following trends.

1. I remember. I also remember the show made it quite clear that the leader of the Maximals was NOT Optimus Prime, even changing the name slightly. And then making it perfectly clear later on that Primal was an entirely separate transformer from Prime.
Beast Machines was actually IMO pretty good at first, but went to absolute crap when hey reintroduced Rhinox and Silverbolt.
2. Of course the TF-shippers won't mention that Peter Cullen was Knight Rider's KARR a full two years before their beloved Optimus Prime, quite simply because it runs counter to their TF-worship. So they do what any cult always does to every other cult - narrow-mindedly bash the living crap out of it, regardless of their own ignorance thereof. That kind of behavior's been going on for thousands of years, and sadly it ain't gonna change anytime soon.
(I will grant them that Prime is Cullen's favorite role of the ones he's done. But then again he was only KARR in one episode. And he was still KARR before he was Optimus.)

What do you expect they are uber-nerds, their life is to crap on something they haven't actually seen yet follow the trend. It's alot like bush bashing, they bash him just to be part of the crowd. 95% of the people who bashed him had no real reason other than most everyone else was doing it. Bush bashing was just an example. If morons can be led that easily i'll have to find a nice cliff or bottomless pit and brainwash them into jumping off of/into it. Thus sparing the United States the indignity of having these people exist.

Just as I thought, these guys comments are ok though, they refer to him sounding "like an angry Optimus"

http://transformerslive.blogspot.com/20 ... -week.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Not to me though, he was Karr first. I still remember the first airing of TDR and when the Transformers cartoon came out later and I first heard Optimus, I thought "Woah, its Karr!"

If you wanna think about it like that then Optimus sounds like a "calmed, restrained Karr"

Personally I think Peters gonna add some real "weight" to this new Karr. :good:

Well, I freely admit that I didn't think much of Prime as a monkey either.

Still I think Cullen's performance is going to be great and will not just be evil Prime. I'm sure he had fun with this.
