One Man ( Can ) Make A Difference!

Post by Showpro1 » Tue Jan 13, 2009 10:01 pm

KITT/KARR replica owners set to attend Knight Festival should know that when you arrive at the show in march you
should have at least a contribution to be welcome at the VIP party.
Let me point out what is obvious and that is this event (Knight Rider Festival) is a class act and we must be up to the task by being contributors and if possible seek out those who could help as well.
I am asking people from my community for contributions such as the NBC affiliate, Ford dealerships, etc...
Many people of note will be at Knight Rider Festival such as : Glen Larson, Stu Phillips. Don Peake, George Barris, Ron Martinez, and many more including those who are involved in NBC's new KR series not to mention the media.
We should represent the Knight Rider community well by being individuals who will help Childrens Miracle Network
with the very best we have.
The work that Childrens Miracle Network does, really make all the difference for children who might not otherwise recieve the help they so desperately need because of a life threatening illness as an example.
This is something I already practice in my life and Im proud of the work that Knight's Of The West Coast has done
to help me during the past three years of Knight Rider Car Shows at Saugus Speedway where we raised funds for Make A Wish.
Now we are honored to work with Paul Casey on the 1st annual Knight Rider Festival and when we work together
this event will be a HUGE SUCCESS!
Some of our honored guests are traveling to Knight Festival on their own dime so lets make certain we make them aware that we have the right sort of character and will be known as those who are generous in our giving.

I think this message is a little premature...

While we absolutely want to help the Children's Miracle Network and the Knight Rider Festival as much as possible, my understanding is that Paul Casey wants to treat the replica owners as honored guests. As such, their presence with their cars IS considered a contribution to the charity. Car owners, like everyone else, should be encouraged to have additional donations, but they absolutely should not feel like they will be turned away at the door if they don't give money.

Michael with all due respect please let me know what the purpose of a fundraiser is?
In a sense having our cars there is a contribution, however you know good & well that if we dont pony up something
those celebrities will think we have no breeding what so ever.

And as I stated on Knight Registries, the one hundred dollar amount that I brought up is what my contribution will be at minimum.
Im not shaking anyone down, but tell me Mike does Patricia Mc Pherson take food stamps at her fundraisers?

I didnt say they would be turned away entirely only that they might find it difficult to enter the VIP party.
The general public will not join us at the VIP party just those of us who are bringing our cars & have reservations at The Four Queens Casino & Hotel.

All Im really saying is that this Knight Rider community has shown its self to be petty at times (me included), now why not shine especially in the eyes of those who were and in a way still are our hero's?

Knight rider Festival website.

Post by Showpro1 » Sun Jan 25, 2009 10:53 pm

As you visit the Knight Rider Festival Website http://www.knightriderfestival.com/knig ... harity.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
you can read the letter that addresses KITT car owners and lets us know that our efforts are appreciated.
Debi Walsh expresses much better than I have what our work means to Childrens Miracle Network
So I encourage you who will have your KITT at the event to raise what you can to show our special guests that we as fans can in our own ways make a difference.
Between now and the 20th of march I will give up my daily Starbucks habit (for instance) and bring that money which would normally go to a mocha or latte.
I just encourage all fellow KITT/KARR replica owners as well as those who are simply fans to bring what you can, or if you cant be there in person send what is in your heart to do.
To be honest when Paul casey sent me the webaddress it really showed me that the tact I took last week was self righteous & wrong because I know that there are so many of you out there with big hearts who want to help.
I look forward to seeing fellow KITT/KARR replica owners as well as all Knight Rider fans to prove that
we really will be Making A Difference.

Children's Miracle Network Director Debi Walsh put an nice appreciation letter at the Knight Rider Festival official
website that I strongely urge you to read.
The letter can be found at: http://www.knightriderfestival.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
you then click on the charity htm to view it, in the letter she thanks us for our fundraising efforts.

I know many cannot be at the event in person but you can make at very real difference by sending your
best gift to :

Debi Walsh- Children's Miracle Network
3001 St Rose Parkway
Henderson, Nevada 89052

For those of us driving our KITT/KARR replicas we can present our donations in person Friday night
when Knight Rider Festival kicks off.
Here's to a successful show that is the beginning of truly great things.
Maybe Knight Rider Online would sponsor a driver going who would present KROL's donation ( just a suggestion).
