A Ride With KITT

Post by Sue » Tue Dec 30, 2008 2:50 am

As they say, it never hurts to ask. 8)

Well...I figured since KITT had already gone to the trouble of backing up a few feet for an interview, that well, I'm sure he wouldn't mind taking us all for a spin around the parking lot.
And if you're wondering why I'm not screaming my head off in the video it's more of a stunned silence. Though I bet if we had room for that turbo boost you'd be hearing one.

JEALOUS!

That's awesome. The car is sooo great. (but would look so much better in my garage instead of that parking lot)
Lucky you, and thanks for sharing this video. I'm gonna watch it again now...

That was awesome Sue...I bet some days you wish you could turn off the wind...or kick aside a speed bump. I loved the inside view and the purr of KITT's engine....Oh Yeah!!!! So Cool!

Yeah the engine sounds great. :D

Was a shame about the wind there, and the crowded parking lot... would have loved to seen it opened up. :)

Next time bring along an EM meter to see if you are getting any radiation from those power lines.

Oh yeah, the wind was a pain. I do wish I could turn it off.
Somehow though I managed not to notice KITT politely reminding me to activate the laser restraints.

I tell ya, if it was me asking for a drive I would have gotten a firm no! Sue so charmed that driver that he had to oblige! Haha, thanks again Sue. Great stuff.

Wow Sue very nice! You get the greatest videos!

I was wondering though, what is the "story point" he is talking about because of the tinted windows, maybe a certain character may come up in this car?

Maybe MK or Charles returns and they have the car tinted so you cant see until he appears?
We will have to wait and see, other than that we just have to speculate lol

Most likely the car drives on its own and as they are not using the remote control car anymore they use a simple way of getting the no driver illusion... black windows. However, one can always hope :D.

I couldn't see the video. It says "This video no longer exists". :( I would have loved to at least hear the engine on that car! :)

they are just custom Mustang GT, hence the Automatic in the car.

real KR would be too expensive because say u damaged the hood, u have to send the damaged Hood to Shelby to get a new one. There is only 1000-1500 of these cars made, and i think like 200-300 available in the black. And the rest are in Silver, Red or Blue

Wow Sue thats great! You always get allowed onto set. Wish I could've gotten an ride on Kitt.

Btw, the not so friendly site "Jalopnik" has this story on their site. Still boggles me why they never used my Attack Kitt pictures, or why they blocked my account but, Oh Well!

Regular Ki3T needs no driver as well.

They tint the windows so that the stunt drivers wont be seen.

Neil - I finally got to see it. :) I guess it was a momentary glitch that hit just when I was about to view it. It's working now.

WOW, Sue you are so lucky! :) I loved the sound of that engine too. Reminds me vaguely of my Taurus' Duratec (but with less powerful sound of course since my car is only (ONLY! LOL!) 200 hp). I'm still impressed with my own car's power. Never had a 200 hp equipped vehicle before, that I know of. (I don't know what hp my old Chevy Truck was).

So KITT (his stunt double at least) does sound familiar to me. Guess that's another reason I love my "Suse" so much. She reminds me of KITT whenever I go for a drive. :)

I hope some day you get a chance to ride in it when they can really open him up good on a straightaway and hear how he runs and shifts! THAT would be awesome! :)

I guess that should shut up all the naysayers and haters that say the show does not have any stunts or stunt vehicles...

but Ki3t HAS a driver.

i think KARR dont has one this time.so he need the black windows more. maybe he looks exakt like Ki3T when he transforms to a mustang.
