Knight 4000 compared to the Knight 3000
Anyone see the same concept in the knight 400 that is now in the knight 3000?
1.The new pilot had the voicebox in the mid consol center/mid dash area. The knight 2000 pilot had it in the same place.
2.Both cars had a video screen windhsheild.
Can anyone else spot any simlilarities

Re: Knight 4000 compared to the Knight 3000
very true,
i think the HUD was always going to be the next step up, i mean the original kit could display basic graphics i.e atari 2600 pac man LOL.
to be fair the voice modulator was put in the easiest place to save major mod;s to the car, kitt 3000 has been designed to be a standard car in normal mode - to the untrained eye that is, i dont think they had the budget for kift.
i think KIFT was done on a minor budget and its no way a patch on kitt 3000, the displays on the nano skin is very cool and very clever. not only that may KIFT rest in piece what a POS what were they thinking i mean RED????? with a woman driver ? LOL
kidding ....

A fairly standard looking round one ... much like the stock one the new KITT has now.Kram061-1 wrote: What kind of steering wheel did the K4000 have?

The Knight 4000 had a fax machine and an aromanometer.

Hey I just noticed the KIFT had a second smaller screen on the passengers side AND has buttons. That makes it more customized than the new Kitt.

The Knight 4000 had a custom dash. The dodge stealth stock dash is much more interesting though.Rockatteer wrote:Both had standard dashboards. (apart from the video screen in the center console)

Re: Knight 4000 compared to the Knight 3000
Don't forget the digital readouts (speedometer etc) on KIFT's steering wheel (which you can't see in that picture). The movie wasn't great but the car was sweet. I remember how hacked off I was when I bought the re-issue kit and it had the wrong hubcaps. The centre dash was a bit off too, and no overhead console. I actually have a diagram somewhere showing the alterations I was going to make. Someday I will get the original issue and have a proper go at it.
The Dodge Stealth, the one they were gonna use, is U, G, L, Y, and it almost certainly has no alibi.

Re: Knight 4000 compared to the Knight 3000
the knight 4000 is much nicer looking than the knight 3000. at least they put some effort into the 4000, the 3000 is just a stock mustang.
in glen larson we trust.

Re: Knight 4000 compared to the Knight 3000
To each is own, man..
I'll admit, as a kid, I was kind of in awe over the Knight 4000's nose. It made me look at the family's Grand Prix like it was almost like a KITT. Of course, there is plenty about the car I was convincing myself I'd learn to love over time, like the wheels on it. I mean, look at that ass end on the Knight 4000..if only that car was a little more compact looking. So, even though the Knight 3000 is basically stock, at least it doesn't look half ways ridiculous.

Yeah, so did the old KITT and this was heavily implied throughout the OS.Knight Racer wrote:Anyone see the same concept in the knight 400 that is now in the knight 3000?

The Knight 4000 would have been so much cooler if Pontiac had let them use the real Banshee concept car.
